One week after the Ember-fiasco, and the entire school seemed to have forgotten anything ever happened. Scott stepped over a lonely Ember bracelet, while listening to Stiles rant about why the power to stop time is simultaneously the best and the worst power to have. The werewolf realized he should probably be listening to his friend, but he couldn't keep his attention from drifting. Would the students get over it as easily if werewolves turned out to be real? Somehow he didn't hope so.

They were still making their way to the cafeteria to take their lunch, when Scott heard something. He raised his hand, stopping Stiles in the middle of "so even if you could move, you'd die any – what is it?"

"Something's going on outside. It sounds like fighting," Scott said concerned.

Stiles glanced out of the windows and started walking towards the windows that gave view to the outside. "A fight?"

"Yeah, there's a lot of screaming and… cheering, for some reason," Scott replied as they walked past almost empty benches and tables. It seemed like everyone had pressed themselves against the windows, so that what they were actually looking at was obscured. Scott and Stiles forced a way past the people until they could see what was going on.

A caucasian, black-haired boy whom they didn't recognize appeared to be engaged in a fight with a ginormous green wasp. The monstrous insect was at least as big as its opponent, and some sort of green slime was dripping down its jaws. The creature seemed to suck all light and color from its environment, while having a glowing white aura itself.

All of this didn't seem to scare the boy. The wasp swung two of his barbed legs at the head of the mysterious teenager. Faster than the spectators thought possible, he dove to the right. The monster missed and tumbled to the left. The boy drew a pistol-like object from his purple backpack. He fired. Instead of a bullet, the creature was hit by a lime green blob, right between the wings on his back. This resulted in a hesitant applause from the crowd.

Stiles looked at Scott in bewilderment: "What the hell is going on here?"

Scott could only shake his head in surprise. Stiles tapped a blond girl in front of him on the shoulder: "Hey, do you have any idea of what's going on?"

The girl answered, turning her head: "So that monster just pops up out of literally nowhere, right, and it's about to attack Jared, when all of a sudden that new kid jumps in and saves his ass! I had no idea he could do that, he isn't even on any sports teams."

Stiles eyed the boy warily, who was dodging attacks of Wasp-zilla left and right. This reeked of supernatural involvement. "Hmm. What was his name again?" he asked, looking back to the girl.

"Oh, uh, Danny, I guess," she replied.
