Evil Paperwork

Roy sighed, wincing as he flexed his fingers. After working on his paperwork for four straight hours, he finally dared to put his pen down. His eyes were slightly bloodshot from lack of sleep, and he laid his head down on his desk, allowing himself to drift into unconsciousness.

Edward knocked on the door softly before walking in, a scowl on his face. He opened his mouth to begin ranting, but his expression softened as he looked at his dozing superior, light snores coming from his throat. Taking care to be quiet, he walked over to Roy and looked at his sleeping face, peaceful as it never was when he was awake. After a few moments, he reached over and shook the older man's shoulder lightly.

"Roy," he murmured. "Roy, you need to wake up." With a slight groan, he sat up, rubbing his eyes as he yawned.

"Hm?" he said groggily, and Ed smiled.

"It's late. Time to come home." Roy looked up, his eyes dull with sleep, and smiled as they found Ed's face.

"It's not that late," he replied. "Only three.." He trailed off as he looked at the clock, his eyes widening in horror. It was indeed three- in the morning. "Shit! Ed, I'm so sorry-" Ed put his fingers over Roy's lips and the older man silenced instantly.

"It's fine, Roy. Let's just go home, okay?" Roy's eyes lightened and he smiled softly.

"Okay." He stood up, stretching languidly before grabbing his jacket from the back of his chair and pulling it onto his shoulders. He looked at Ed, smiling, and wrapped his arm around his shoulders as they left the office.

"Why were you so late anyway?" Ed asked, genuinely curious, and Roy sighed.

"Hawkeye's making me redo all of the paperwork I burnt, and I have to rewrite the actual documents by hand." Ed suppressed a smile and patted Roy on the back.

"How much do you have left?" he asked gently, and Roy groaned.

"Four hours of writing nonstop and I'm only a quarter done!" He hung his head and Ed chuckled under his breath.

"Well, only twelve hours left to go then!" he exclaimed cheerfully, and Roy turned on him with pleading eyes.

"Edward?"

"What?"

"Will you help me do my paperwork?"

"No!"

"Please?"

"..."

"Ed?"

"I... don't know..."

"..."

"Fine." Roy squealed a very un-Roy-like squeal and glomped Ed, planting a kiss on his cheek.

"YAY!" Ed grinned, despite his burning face.

"Maybe I should help you with your paperwork more often."
