The wind rustled through the girl's curly blonde ponytail as Percy waited for the bus to arrive at his stop. He took his eyes off of her and looked down at the books in his hand. He was new to the city, which kind of sucked because he'd miss his hometown. It was even worse because he moved in the middle of the school year.
Thanks, Mom.
He looked back up to the girl next to him. She was wearing small owl earrings, a cardigan, and faded cuff jeans. He could see her gray eyes from the side, and they looked almost... intimidating. As though she knew all of your secrets.
She turned her head towards Percy and raised one of her eyebrows.
"What?" she asked him.
"Uh- nothing. Sorry," he replied, looking down at his black converses instead.
Their bus rolled up to the stop and the bus driver opened the doors for them to enter. Percy scanned the seats infront of him for an empty spot to sit down. He walked slowly forward and stopped next to a girl with short brown hair, and muscles pratically buldging out of her skin. She looked like she should be on the wrestling team... or that she'd talk your lunch money.
"Hey," Percy said to her, "would you mind if I-"
"No." The girl picked her red backpack off of the floor and plopped it down to the empty space next to her.
Percy frowned and continued making his way down the aisle.
"Sit down!" forced the bus driver at the front.
"You can sit here," a voice piped up near the back. A hand shot up and waved, followed by a curly-haired head. "Hurry up!"
Percy quickly made his way to the boy and took the spot he was offered.
"Thanks," Percy told the boy. "I'm Percy... uh- well, Percy Jackson."
"Grover Underwood," the boy said with a smile. "Nice to meet you! Are you new here?"
"Yeah. I just finished moving yesterday," Percy replied.
"That's gotta stink! Since school's almost over and all."
"No kidding. Not that I'm not used to it. I'm always moving from school to school."
"Jeez! That's even worse! Oh, hey, what classes do you have anyways? I want to see if we have any together."
"Uh, just a sec," Percy replied. He dug through his bookbag and pulled out a vanilla-colored piece of paper. He handed his scheduale over to Grover.
"Ooh! Yeah," Grover exclaimed, pointing to the scheduale with Percy peering onto it as well. "We have 1st, 4th, 5th, and 7th period together. Sweet!"
Percy smiled as the bus lurched to a stop in front of Percy's new school- Westling Academy- and the bus driver opened the doors for the students to get off. He didn't realize how quickly time has passed and stood up, gathering his books and swinging his bookbag over his shoulder.
"I can show you to 1st period if you'd like," Grover offered.
"That'd be great! Thanks!" Percy followed him off of the bus and into the highschool.
