Shadow Games
(Poetic representation of a scene from Yuugiou by Kazuki Takahashi)
Souls are bound to another realm
A boy mourns their loss
Dark beings from two artifacts emerge
The boy unites with one
The second drives a man insane
His wife, his love… ripped from him by the evil eye
The eye that contains the darkness, the evil
The boy and his shadow challenge the man to a duel
Stakes? Souls of the trapped
If the boy loses, his own soul is forfeit
If the boy loses, his shadow becomes one with the evil.
The dark man hides behind his youth…
Hides within false happiness
The Shadow destroys the evil's façade.
The duelists are drawn into the land of shadow and darkness.
The young boy falters; his shadow saves him from this realm.
The man hides once more, but behind a monstrosity.
Shadow prevails against the monster.
The evil is vanquished,
The souls are released,
The boy and his shadow have prevailed.
The evil eye?
No one knows…
No one… save for a third darkness…
