Again, guys, I really wanted to publish something. This is what I came up with. Please enjoy!

Trapped within the blade of evil's bane. Waiting.

For what, I have never been certain.

But I am certain of one thing in this spiraling mess of a seal.

Master will come. He will draw the sword, and with it, seal away darkness forever. The world will be saved, the darkness defeated, the hero victorious.

That is the legend.

But somewhere inside me, the longer I am waiting, the more a new memory emerges. A memory from the goddess.

"Darkness and light are two sides of the same coin. One cannot exist without another. Darkness cannot be expelled, just as light cannot reign eternal. There will always be a hero. There will always be a nightmare that attempts to prevail. The hero in this battle will emerge victorious, but the glory bittersweet. A curse will be set upon this land, the land of Hylia. My people will forever be doomed to a cycle of chaos and destruction, broken only by a meager victory from a short-lived hero. But all will be well, as with this inevitable curse I cast a blessing: so long as there is light and dark, good and evil, there will be a third. Neither of the demons nor of the men. As courage and power are locked in their eternal conflict, wisdom will prevail."

The last words spoken to me from Her Grace before that final battle, that shook the heavens and the earth. I remember evil sealed away briefly. Then I remember Her Grace, mortally wounded, on a divine deathbed. Her eyes… I remember her eyes. They looked at me. There was something in them I could not quite grasp. I believe it may have been pity. Pity for whom? It could only have logically been myself. But I did not need her pity. I still struggle to grasp it. I was her servant. She had created me for one purpose: aiding the light and understanding the dark. I was carrying out my purpose.

I remember her whisper.

"Always…a third…"

And then she was gone. She would return, I knew. But the human form she would take, I knew, would pale in comparison to the absolute majesty and might of Her Grace. Two humans, I knew, would fight the source of true evil, Demise, and earn a short-lived era of peace in the land of Her Grace's creation.

But for now, I would wait.
