Prompt: At my Parents' House, "It Must Be Difficult to Be A Parent" and Wisdom
Words (Not including this): 322
Characters: Lucy Weasley, OC, Audrey, Percy
For: The Family Boot Camp and The If You Dare Challenge
A/N: I know this clashes with Q and A with my past self. That story had the dates wrong *frowns* Math isn't my strong suit, but this story is correct. Lucy's about 25, and Molly past away when she was 26, so this story is set a year after Molly died, so it's in 2029.
When my mother, Audrey, found out I had a boyfriend, she was so happy.
When my mother, Audrey, found out that I was getting married, she was over the moon.
When my mother, Audrey, came to my wedding, she bawled like a baby in happiness.
Dad, however, is still getting over Molly.
My poor sister Molly. She died.
From love – sickness.
She was always Dad's favourite.
Why? Because she never did anything wrong.
"Darling, how are you?" My mother asks, opening the door, letting my husband and I in.
"Great," I grin, looking nervously at Nathan. He gives a small nod.
"Where's dad?" I ask. Mum goes pale.
"Still at work. I'm a bit worried," Mum mutters, "Fifteen hours straight,"
"He should be home soon, Mrs Weasley," Nathan says, always the gentleman, reaching out a hand for her to shake.
"Thank you, Nathan," Mum smiles, "And, please, call me Audrey, or Mum,"
"Alright then, Mum," Nathan giggles. I smile.
"Mum, Nathan and I have some… News," I say, stretching out the word. She grins, then looks worried.
"What is it, sweetheart?" She asks, "Are you sick? Oh, no, please,"
"No, Mum," I smile, "I'm… Pregnant,"
"Wow!" Mum hugs me, wrapping me in a hug, before ripping off me and hugging Nathan, "Is it too early to know what gender? How long have you known? How many weeks pregnant are you?"
"Hang on, slow down," I say, "It's too early to tell; I've known for three weeks; I'm about two and a half months," Mum's eyes shimmer with happiness, just like I knew they would.
"I'm," Mum is too stunned for words, "I'm finally getting to be a grandmother!"
"Well, are you going to share all of your 'parent wisdom' with us?" I joke.
"Yeah, you should," Nathan agrees, "It must be difficult to be a parent,"
"Well…" And so it begins, with Mum teaching us everything we need to know about parenthood.
