Chapter 1

Rachel was in shock as she stared at the positive result of the pregnancy test that she picked up at the drugstore after school. How could this happen to her, of all people? The person at the bottom of the bad reputation list, with a score of minus 5. She closed her eyes and wished the result away. When she opened them again, the result was the same. What was she going to do? How could she ever explain this to the potential fathers? It all started because of a stupid list, that she would now be happy to be at the bottom of. All she wanted was to go back and change what she had done. Now it was too late, and she was just another teenage statistic. The girl with so much potential, that ruined her life because she just wanted to be popular.

As she sat on her bed and held the test limply in her hand, she began to cry. How could she be so stupid. And which Joey, was the Joey? Then she began to think about her dreams of Broadway, and New York city. How could she ever do any of those things with a baby? As she wiped away her tears she made a decision. She would get an abortion. She got out her phone, and began to google clinics that provide abortions. Then she stopped. What was she thinking? How could she ever do that to herself, her baby, and her baby's father? Then the thought of adoption came to mind. Immediately she dismissed that. Growing up without her mother was very difficult and traumatic for her. She could never willingly hand her own child over to strangers. No matter how nice they seemed. The only conclusion that she could think of was keeping her baby. Even if she had to raise it alone. She is a strong person. She could do it, and follow her dreams at the same time. This didn't have to be the end of her life. She smiled as she thought about what a beautiful beginning this was going to be.

Her smile turned to a frown when she realized something. First she had to tell the possible fathers. Then she had to tell her fathers. This was going to be an interesting week for her. She prayed for the strength and courage to get through it.
