Prologue

Deep in the Forest of Dean, a rip in time and space opened silently, without any noise or fuss. One moment it wasn't there, the next it was, simple as that. However, what it led to wasn't nearly as simple. The rip led to the past, a time when creatures of enormous size still walked the earth: the dinosaurs.

What came through the rip was a little noisier however. A huge Gorgonospid stepped through with a roar. It sniffed the air, and whipped its head around. Its nostrils flared as it smelled the air once more, and took off at a run. It smelled food, and it was hungry.

Several more creatures would come and go through that rift before nature decided that it was time to close it. However, one of the most important things to emerge from that rip would be one of the most silent things. A form that was much smaller than the Gorgonospid slipped through. It looked at the ground briefly before taking off at a run and scaling one of the nearby trees as a second dinosaur passed underneath.

Once it was gone, the form dropped to the ground almost silently. It went back to look at the ground before raising its head to look around. In moments the form took off running and the night was soon silent again. The night life of the forest soon went on as normal and all but forgot the strange rip, the creatures that came through, and the small form that was currently hunting a Gorgonospid.
