It was Monday morning when the sun rose brightly and the rays shone to Elias's room. The sound of the alarm jolted him up. He later calmed down and hit the snooze button. He went down to the kitchen, poured himself some cereal, and sat down at the table. As soon as he started eating, his parents came down the stairs and into the kitchen.
"Good morning, Elias!" his mom greeted.
"Morning, mom."
"Ready for your first day of school?"
"Well... to be honest, I'm a little excited and nervous."
Elias's dad then spoke. "Everything will be fine, son. Besides, you know one person who's going to school same as you, so it shouldn't be hard."
"...I suppose you're right. I mean, it is the first day, so... what could possibly go wrong?"
"Nothing wrong will happen if you just put your mind to it!" his mom proudly said. Elias chuckles in response.
"Thanks, mom. You're the best."
Later, after Elias was done, he went to his room to check his backpack. He made a mental checklist.
"Books? Check. Lunch money? Check. School supplies? Check. Gym clothes, and a nice sense of humor? Check and check." Elias grinned.
He put on his backpack and went down the stairs.
"Have you got everything?" Elias's mom asked.
"Yep."
"Are you sure?" his dad then asked.
"One hundred percent. The bus will be here soon, so I should be going. See ya! Wish me luck!"
"Have a good day, Elias! We love you!"
"Love you too!"
As the door closed, Elias's mom smiled. "They grow up so fast..."
The bus arrived 10 minutes later. As they all went inside, everyone then stared at Elias. He didn't pay much attention to the stares as he walked past and sat down. The bus then drove off, ready to pick up the other kids.
"Well... here begins the start of a new journey."
