The lunch time bell rang and the students dispersed. Some talked with their friends, but Uryu Ishida -the bespectacled young Quincy- sat down under the same tree as he always had. Those who didn't know Uryu would think him to be lonely; the truth was that he preferred the solitude; it gave him time to think.
Orihime Inoue was currently in a state of deep and intense thought as she sat with her friends on the grass, during lunch time. Chizuru Honsho was in an argument with Tatsuki Arisawa. Rukia Kuchiki was busy eating her lunch and saying pretty much nothing. Orihime thought about one thing and she had deemed it to be very important.
'Hmm.' She thought 'Yes, I'm quite sure of it. It has to be that.'
"Oh!" Chizuru Honsho scoffed in rage "That is not true, Tatsuki! Hime, tell her that's not true!" She said to Orihime, who was only focused on one thing.
"Relax," Tasuki said "I was kidding."
"Um," Orihime said "excuse me, I have to go somewhere."
"Huh? Sure." Tatsuki said
'I wonder if…' Uryu thought 'Yes! If I sew a rabbit on the back then-' Uryu's thought was cut off after he noticed Orihime walking towards him.
"Is there something I can help you with, Orihime?"
"Uryu… It's okay…"
"Umm, what are you talking about?"
"I know your secret."
"WHAT?" Uryu shouted as he got up to his feet. "Who told you and how did you find out?"
"I'm pretty sure that in this case, those two questions mean the same thing." Orihime said while looking into Uryu's fearful eyes.
"That's not the point!" the Quincy yelled as he places both hands on Orihime's shoulders and shook her back and forth… It was to emphasize his point, you perverts!
"I don't think Rukia would stop caring about you even if she didn't feel the same way." She said as she was still in his grip.
"Wait," He said as he stopped shaking her… finally. "What are you talking about?"
"There's no need to hide it, Uryu! Just shout it to the world! Let everyone know that you are in love with Rukia Kuchiki!"
"WHAT?" Uryu one again shouted.
"Look, I know how hard it can be to confess love, but with my help you can make it through this!"
Uryu didn't know what to say. "WHAT?
"Are you okay?
"So let me get this straight… You think I'm in love… with Rukia?"
"Yes."
"Let me explain something to you very clearly: I am a Quincy, she is a Soul Reaper; there will be no After-School Special Romance, there will be no Shoujo Manga Kiss, there will be no bad Fan Fiction fawning from the rest of the crowd, and there will be absolutely NO Fairy-Tale Happily Ever After for Rukia and me. Don't get it? Quincy plus Soul Reaper plus Romance equals never gonna happen!"
"I know what you both are and I know that you battle with your feelings day and night and every time you see her, look into those eyes of hers, you just want to embrace her and never let go! I know that because of these feelings, you can't concentrate and you think about her all the time! If you can just get over the fact that you are supposed to hate each other than you can realize just how much you love her!"
"Orihime, we are not Romeo and Juliet. 'There is no star crossed lovers' about us. Please leave."
"Fine," Orihime said dejectedly and began to walk over to her friends.
Uryu sat down and realized something. "Wait, Orihime!"
"Yes?" she said as she stopped in her tracks.
"How did you come to the conclusion that I was in love Rukia?"
"The dress you made her."
"… Huh? What dress?"
"The one you made right before we left the Soul Society."
The Ishida boy looked puzzled.
"Never mind." Orihime walked back to her friends and sat down and stared at Rukia, which in turn made Rukia feel uneasy.
"Umm, is there a problem, Orihime?"
"Oh, no, nothing!" She said somewhat loudly.
That's the first chapter of my first Bleach fanfic!
