a/n yay, another weird soppy angsty teen-romance fic. I've been doing too many. Either I'm going crazy or some of my girliness is finally showing.

Lily looked surprised when I cornered her in the rain between Herbology and Potions. She looked surprised to see me; actually, I had risked being late for my favorite class to talk to her. "I saw you and Potter kissing in the hallway yesterday," I said quietly.

Lily's gaze hardened on me, a look I had never seen before. "So?" she asked me, kind of defiantly.

"Why?" I asked simply.

"Why…?" Her brow furrowed. "Sev, you won't understand. I love him."

I nearly turned away, but held her back from going to Herbology. She glared at me, and she was cute when she glared. I'd seen it a lot that the effect should have worn off on me, but the amount of glaring at Potter and me had seemed to strengthen that feeling.

"Sev, please. I need to get to Herbology. Either kiss me or go." She hoisted her bags higher onto her shoulder, certain that I would go.

She was wrong. Actually, only semi-wrong. I was going to go, but as soon as I saw Potter and his friends. Lily must have seen them to, because she turned to go, but I kissed her before she could leave.

At first she struggled, but then she seemed to melt against me. It was short, but it made me feel better inside; Lily Evans, the love of my life, had kissed me, whether she liked it or not.

As she broke the kiss, I whispered quietly, "Lily Evans, do you love me?"

As she turned, she looked back with a kind of sad smile on her face and sadness in her eyes. "I don't love you. I'm sorry, Sev."

With that, she walked slowly off to Potter and his gang, leaving me standing in the rain.
