So on with the story!
Meteor and Shower
Prologue
Syaoran Li stood on a cliff, looking at a beautiful sunset. He breathed in the scent of cheery blossoms, as an old man approached him from behind. Syaoran spun around, his sword raised in a defensive position. He relaxed when he realised who it was, and lowered his sword, hands hanging limply at his side.
"What does my mother want now, Wei?" asked Syaoran, sighing.
"Your mother wishes for you to return to the house, as the Elders would like to address you personally," replied Wei, bowing. Syaoran turned back towards the sunset, trying to capture the sunset as a picture to keep as a memento to remember. He smiled briefly, as an image flew into his mind, as clear as pure water. Syaoran turned to the house, clearing his head of all thoughts, as he walked to the mansion. Syaoran met his mother, Yelan, outside of the ceremonial room, and then proceeded into the room. Old men were seated in a semicircle shape in the room, facing Syaoran who stood in the middle of the roo so that all of the Elders could see him perfectly.
"You come before us, Syaoran, for we have a new assignment for you," drawled one of the Elders. Syaoran smiled mockingly, and then bowed in acknowledgement.
"What is the assignment then?" asked Syaoran, his voice pressing the fact that the Elders should get right to the point of the meeting. All of the Elders smiled knowingly, acting as though they hadn't heard him.
Suddenly, the head Elder spoke aloud, saying, "You are to go back to Tomaeda, and you are to protect the Card Mistress, as she is in grave danger, but Syaoran wouldn't like her to be in danger, hmm, am I correct in saying that?" Syaoran's face and expression contorted slightly, as the true meaning of the statement sank into his mind.
"I accept this task," said Syaoran, power shadowing his voice.
"Excellent, you shall leave tomorrow," said one of the Elders. Syaoran bowed and walked quickly out of the room.
As soon as Syaoran's fading footsteps receded into nothing, the head Elder whispered aloud, "I hope that we as a clan have made the right decision."
A voice drawled out into the room, saying, "The choice you made today will change everything." A figure could be seen in the shadows, as the head Elder nodded at it, his lips drawn back in a lipless smile.
"Are you sure?" asked the head Elder.
"Oh yes, I truly have made the right decision," the figure said, as it stepped into the light.
