Chapter 1:

Akashi huffed before shivering at the chilly air in the alley he was taking shelter in from the piercing winds in the night. His company fell and his father died leaving him all alone in this alley with no food, no water, no money, no house, and no servants.

"Stupid company had to fall and on top of that my dad just had to die!" Akashi murmured and burrowed in his thin hoodie but at least it had long sleeves to keep his arms a little warm.

"Wow, you're dumb." a voice said with no emotion.

Akashi swerved his head to see a teal haired and eyed boy wearing nothing but a teal colored, thin hoodie like Akashi, the only difference was that he had short sleeves and Akashi's hoodie was red like his hair. The boy was drinking juice out of a can that was most likely bought from a cheap vending machine.

"I'm dumb?" Akashi scoffed, "Look at yourself and tell me that again."

The boy sighed, "I'm not even cold but new kids like you tend to freeze to death in clothing like that before they get used to the weather."

Akashi tried to look superior as he told a lie, "My butler will get me soon so I definitely won't die here."

The boy rolled his eyes, "Great, another rich-to-street kids stuck up, I don't even want to bother anymore, see you later."

"Wait! At least tell me where to get something to drink!" Akashi asked.

"The river 3 miles from here is your only option since I already know you don't have money on you." the boy said dismissively.

"You know I won't get that far, let me have some of your drink." Akashi demanded.

"Nope, I dun wanna." he said with a grin as he took another sip.

"By the way, what's your name?" the boy asked, "I'm Kuroko Tetsuya."

"Akashi Seijuro, and at least give me money so I can buy one." Akashi pleaded.

Kuroko looked thoughtful and Akashi had a fleeting moment that the boy was teasing him, "I'll let you have a sip, besides I'm gonna be framed for killing you by the other kids around here and you better hurry because this is Haroni's territory, not mine."

Akashi smiled gratefully and when Kuroko handed him the can he took a small sip but it was enough for his dry throat for the moment.

"Hey Phantom, what are you doing here?" a childish voice said and the two turned around to see a boy with orangeish-yellow hair, freckles decorated his face, musty yellow eyes, he was definitely older and bigger than the two as he approached.

"Hello Haroni." Kuroko greeted and the reply was merely a punch to the face.
