A/N: The awesomeness of Leo Valdez cannot be denied, so I decided to give him a girlfriend. Okay, I just figured this would be an easy way to introduce my OC Kate. Peace out.

~LINE BREAK OF AWESOMENESS~

Leo would always remember when she stumbled into his life, quite literally- appearing out of nowhere on the deck of the Argo II.

He remembered her eight-month-pregnant belly, her brown hair and green eyes, her shirt reading " '90% of magic consists of knowing one extra fact.'- Terry Pratchett," the phoenix Sharpie'd onto her right forearm, the iPod she never seemed to turn off.

He remembered her laughing as Frank, Percy, and the coach got to the part about the giant koi.

He remembered her going straight to Nico and hugging him until he couldn't breathe.

He remembered the tears streaming down her face as Percy and Annabeth fell, when she finally- finally- told them Percy was her brother.

He remembered holding her hand as she gave birth the next day. Amanda Hazel and Matthew Leo, the daughter and son of Zeus.

He remembered the huge grin on her face as she snapped her phone shut and announced that she and Percy had a baby sister.

He remembered her joy as they freed Percy and Annabeth- bruised, battered, close to crazy, but very much alive.

He remembered her saying, "To storm or fire the world must fall. And I choose storm."

He remembered her standing alone, calling up the biggest storm the world had seen in eons.

He remembered that it only lasted half an hour- half an hour until Gaea was defeated, the giants and their army returned to Tartarus, the Doors of Death closed.

He remembered her collapsing, exhausted, having used up everything she had.

He remembered her opening her eyes as he bent to help her up and rasping that she only needed two things.

He remembered her asking him to take care of Amy and Matt.

And he remembered her kissing him fiercely, desperately, with a love so deep it outshone the pain in her eyes. He remembered pulling her tighter and tighter in as she got weaker and weaker. He remembered falling to his kneess as she finally slipped away.

He remembered how peaceful she looked, her brown hair falling into her smiling face.

He remembered trudging back to the others, somehow managing to carry her.

He remembered Piper was there first, and Hazel.

He remembered falling into their arms, letting himself cry for the first time since his mother died.

And then he remembered nothing at all.

O.o

Five years had passed. Today was the anniversary. He stood in his front yard, watching the night go dark, remembering her. Katherine Louise Houston, mother, daughter, sister- his first and last girlfriend. Katie Houston, runaway and teenage mom. But always Kate Jackson, daughter of Poseidon, the true hero of Olympus.

He turned and walked stiffly back to the house where his five-year-old son and daughter waited patiently for him to stop crying.
