Aki-chan: Umm, I think it's safe to say I don't own Vampire Knight. It belongs to Hino Matsuri.

Soooo, yeah. On with the story. Also! It's my first story, so no flames, please. Constructive criticism is welcome, though.

Yuuki remembers the first time she saw him smile.

It was a tiny pulling of the corners of his mouth that were nearly impossible to see.

But she noticed.

She was in complete shock, too. Her chocolate-brown eyes widened, her mouth opened into an "O" shape, and greatly resembled a fish. Dumbstruck, she opened and closed her mouth repeatedly as if to say something.

Noticing her obvious uncomposed manner, he quickly pressed his lips into a straight line and narrowed his lavender eyes; silently berating himself for showing such a delightful emotion.

He was going to be a vampire hunter one day, after all.

In a sharp hollow voice he asked her what her problem was, and to get rid of it fast.

After taking a few minutes to compose herself, she finally grinned and said, "You smiled, Zero. That's the first time I've seen you smile."

Frowning, he replied, "It was no smile, you're just going blind. And wipe that ridiculous one off your face. It looks stupid."

Yuuki just let out a rather audible "Hmph!" and stomped off towards the door.

When she finally arrived there, she swung open the door creating a loud banging sound, and spun on her heel.

"And just one more thing, Zero!" she yelled. Zero looked on expectantly, waiting for her to finish. "You… you should smile more often. It makes you look pretty cute and kind; a nice change from your usual self." And with that, the 11-year-old brunette slammed the door and left the room.

The silver-haired boy, however, looked a little more than confused. Finally, after reflecting on the previous situation for a few moments, the corners of his mouth were twitching skyward. "That might…" he thought aloud. That might not be a bad idea, he thought. Just maybe. Especially if it would please her, he added to himself.

A smile soon started creeping up on young Zero's face. Yeah, just maybe.

Okay, okay, okay: so did you like it?! Like I said, it's my first fic; so go easy on me. I would love a freaking review, by the way!
