"What are we going to do with them?" Asari asked, looking up at Alaude with concern. His eyes blinked a moment, before a frown pulled at his lips. "Alaude, what's wrong?" he soon asked, standing upright, concern knitting his brows together.

Alaude had been staring, intently, down at the small flock of baby ducklings. Each fluffy and soft looking, making small peeping sounds. A soft pink warmed his cheeks as he continued to stare, and stare, and stare. It was to Asari's surprise - and slight horror - that Alaude had bent over and started plucking each animal and dropping them carefully into the big, deep pockets of his trench coat.

And, just as casually as he had done so, the Cloud had stood upright once more and walked ahead of Asari, approaching the awaiting carriage (I don't really think.. They had cars in their time? I don't remember, whatever). Asari looked at the ditch the ducks were found in to his lover, before jogging over to him. "What are you doing, Alaude?"

Alaude paused in step, half-lidded hues gazing back at the Rain as he arched a brow in question, "Bringing them home with us, of course," he had answered, briskly and matter-of-factly as he walked forward once more. Asari seemed uncertained for a moment, before a smile curved at his lips. Bringing a hand to his mouth, he had to bite down into his finger to keep from laughing.

Alaude was careful when they got to the mansion, sure not to move too suddenly or do anything that could harm the ducks he now carried in his arms, bundled up in the picnic basket they had used for their little picnic date. He watched them as they moved to the kitchen, eying them with an odd sense of fondness - with Asari trailing along, amused and happy at this sudden but pleasant change of events.

However, when arriving to the kitchen, Alaude had found himself in a small situation. After setting the basket down, he had forgotten about the loaf of baguette he was saving. With a steady hand, he opened the top and felt his blood run cold.

Head dipping forward, hair falling in his face to cast a looming shaddow along the top half of his features, he fisted his hand, as if not to bring harm to the ducklings who was currently picking and eating at the bread they had waited nearly an hour to bake.

Asari, quickly sensing the growing anger of Alaude, rushed in, pulling him back with a nervous laugh. "Hey, did you see?" he asked, stupidly, blinking when a cold - and irritated - gaze met his. Just a bit intimidated, the Rain casted a worrisome glance to the chirping ducks before shakily pointing to the bowl of fruit.

The Cloud followed his finger, before blinking, dumb-founded. Looking towards Asari once more in silent question, he crossed his arms - quickly distracted away from the birds. "Giotto got more fruit!" Asari chimed, dragging him over.

Alaude's brow only arched further, "Is that so... -?" he retorted, with a lack of better words. Asari was surprised that he commented at all before nodding his head, selecting each fruit. "See, this apple is green rather than red. It was filled with red apples earlier," he said. In which, Alaude had pointed out that they took all the red ones. "And we have grapes now," Asari went on, undeterred. Which Alaude pointed out that he used the grapes for the jam.

Lowering the fruit bowl, Asari soon felt assured that Alaude had calmed down and smiled. Suddenly, leaning down, he pressed his lips to Alaude's. "How could I ha - Alaude?" he frowned, pulling away, when his eyes hardened once more.

"Wait, weren't you snacking on the bread on our way home?" Alaude asked, voice dropping low. The Rain slowly nodded, and then, realization his - with a punch to the face as Alaude turned to the basket of ducks, picked it up by the handle, and walked out.
