Dekka watched the scene before her. Laughter. Smiles. Kisses. A truly beautiful picture. Snow slowly drifted down around her. People scurried by, rushing here and there to finish their last minute Christmas shopping.
There's a possibility
There's a possibility
All that I had was all I'm gon get
A completely normal Christmas Eve. And just like every Christmas Dekka was alone. Separated from everyone else. No one ever spared her a glance, or a nod. Any acknowledgment that she existed.
There's a possibility
There's a possibility
All I gonna get is gone with your step
All I gonna get is gone with your stare
So tell me when you hear my heart stop
But unlike normal Christmases, she had something to do. She looked ahead of her, the window had frost around it's edges but she could see through it just fine. The woman kneeled down to hug the toddler. She brushed her red hair out of her face. A man walked into the room, followed by a little girl. The man is laughing and the little girl is consumed with giggles. The woman's grin would never suggest that she'd ever had anything but an average childhood.
You're the only one that knows
Tell me when you hear my silence
There's a possibility I would't know
The Breeze had pushed the FAYZ away. It was only a bad memory, a reason to fill her life with as many normal, average, safe people as possible. The Breeze had shunned the FAYZ. In doing so she'd shunned Dekka. Just like everyone else. It hadn't happened all at once. But eventually the others became busy, and Dekka wasn't one to stick around when she wasn't wanted.
Know that when you leave
Know that when you leave
By blood and by me, you walk like a thief,
By blood and by me, and I fall when you leave
So tell me when you hear my heart stop
It had been years since Dekka had seen them. How many years? She'd lost count. Long enough for her to forget the sound of Sam's laughter, and the way Diana's haughty voice sounded whenever she was in a bad mood. She d forgotten the way Edilio's face crumpled when he buried each dead child. She'd forgotten the way Sanjit would spin Lana around and throw her in the lake.
You're the only one that knows
Tell me when you hear my silence
There's a possibility I wouldn't know
So tell me when my sigh is over
But she's never forgotten Brianna. No amount of alcohol could erase The Breeze from her mind. Which was what The Breeze had wanted. To be remembered. But Brianna wasn't The Breeze anymore. She didn t care if they remembered, she chose to forget them. Which wasn't fair. At least not to Dekka.
You're the reason why I'm closed
Tell me when you hear me falling
There's a possibility it wouldn't show
It seemed Dekka was the only one from the FAYZ that was still hurting. She tried to move on. Drugs, therapy, hired company. They only used up the ever-short supply of money Dekka had. Dekka remembered being afraid. Her dreams featured horrors that she'd experienced. She'd wake sweaty and crying. If she'd had money for food the night before, she'd throw it up. But until now she d never realized her true fear. She'd been abandoned in a pathetic way. Brianna only remembered Dekka as a bad memory.
By blood and by me, and I'll fall when you leave
Blood and by me, I follow your lead.

Dekka awoke paralyzed. The rocking of the boat lulled her back into a restful peace. She sighed. It was just a dream. Right?
