Hello, my name is Beca Mitchell and I'm about to tell you the story of my life, well my life so far.
It all started in middle school. Well, it didn't exactly start there, but that's where we are starting today.
"BECA, we're gonna be late honey" my mom yells from across the house.
I groan into my pillow, not wanting to get up and start the day.
I hear my door open, "Come on Beca, you don't want to be late in your first day of middle school".
"I didn't want to start middle school in general" I mumble.
"So what, we all have to do shit we don't want, but what matters is the outcome, not the journey"
"Dad, that was one of the worst and most cliche speeches I've ever heard" I say as I get up and off the bed.
"Yeah, yeah, now get up and get ready. Come downstairs when your done" he says, leaving the room.
"Will do"
I get up and get ready for school, then head downstairs.
I walk in and immediately see hundreds of middle schoolers roaming the halls. I groan and start walking forward, hopefully my feet would lead me to where I need to go.
I think I'm going the right way when I feel someone walk into me.
"Hey watch where you're goi-" I stop mid sentence as I look into the person's eyes.
She has the biggest and bluest eyes, which only pop more with her fire red hair.
"Oh, I'm sorry I was trying to find Mr. Hutchens class. I've been looking awhile now" she says.
I only hear half of it though, for her voice puts me into a trance.
"Um yeah, me too I guess" I reply with.
"So you're in his homeroom" she says with a big , bright smile on her face.
"Y-yeah, I just got here though so I haven't look for long. I'm just kinda waiting until I'm standing in front of the class" I say as I scratch the back of my neck.
"Awes, we can find him together" she grabs my hand and I stumble as she pulls me with her.
She pull me down the halls, looking for the class like I should be doing. Instead, I find myself staring at her, watching as her hair flies back as she run through the halls, or how she has a the most beautiful smile in her face.
We come to a stop right in front of what I suppose is our homeroom. I only notice though when I feel her pull me by my collar, pulling me inches from her face.
"I can already tell that we are going to be fast friends" she says with a wink.
That's when it downs on my that I don't know her name.
"So do you have a name, Red" I ask as she releases her grip on my me.
"Of course" she says with a wide grin.
"Well, what is it"
"Chloe, Chloe Beale" she says as she hold her hand in front of me.
I shake it, "Well Chloe, I have some place to be" I say as I start walking down the hall.
"Isn't this your homeroom though" she says to me.
"Yeah, but I have some people I need to meet up with" I say as I'm about to round the corner.
"Wait, what's your name" she calls out to me.
I just turn around and grin before I'm out of her sight.
I walk all the way to the gymnasium seeing my best friend since birth.
"Hey Stace"
I walk out of the school and I automatically feel a hand on my shoulder.
"Hey, it's you, the girl from earlier. What happened to you, where did you go off to?"
"Oh, I just went off to meet up with some friends" I say.
I see my dads car pull up so I start to walk to it, only to be stopped by Chloe pulling in my arm.
"Hey, I never got your name" she says to me.
"Huh, I guess you never did" I say as I try to walk away again.
"I'm not letting you get away this time"
"Fine, Its Beca" I say with a cocky smile
"Well Beca, I guess I'll see you tomorrow then" she says with a smile.
"I think that's how school works" I say as I get into my car.
I see her roll her eyes as I drive away.
After that, we were inseparable. We spent all of our free time together, even after school we would still be together, whether it be at one of our houses or the soccer pitch. We were always together. That is until freshman year. But that's a story for another chapter ;).
