~Prologue~
No matter what he did, Nezumi would always find his feet wandering back to the same spot. He stood at the foot of his old friend's grave. His first and only love's grave. 'Shion' Nezumi ran his hand along the indentations that spelled his name. This place was almost the same as it had been six years ago. At first, the pain from the memories that his grave brought back was too much for Nezumi to bear. Now, he had gotten used to the feeling of emptiness that haunted him every day. The pain was still there though; a dull ache in his chest where his heart was that reminded him of what he had lost.
Shion.
If only he had been able to accept it when he had revealed that he was gay. If only he hadn't revealed his darkest secret, then maybe they could have still been friends and he could have still been alive today. He placed the flowers he had been carrying right in front of his grave. He paused for a moment, breathing in the fresh scent that the lilies gave off. They had been his favorite flower. Shion's favorite flower. His phone rang, a welcome distraction to the sadness that lingered here. Nezumi checked it: it was Inukashi. He sighed, knowing what his friends would say if he told them where he was.
"Why can't you just let him go?"
Love was not something you could ever let go no matter how much time passed. He could never let him go. Nezumi turned around and walked away to a place where he could pretend to be completely happy.
A.N.: I have no idea how I got this idea. I had originally written this for Ichiruki (Bleach) and yes I also have an Ichiruki version of this story, so sorry if the characters are ooc. OTL But I just wanted to write this for Nezumi and Shion too. Sorry that the prologue is so short! I'll update the next chapter on Friday! (After my speech, wish me luck!) And don't worry! This story will have a happy ending!
Please review! I love reviews~
