Rumple stares out the open doors of the Tardis, anchored deep in space, he searches with longing eyes, deep black, like his heart and the darkness engulfing the Police Box. As he stares blankly into the black curtain before him, he thinks about who he used to be, before he lost Bealfire. He has used the Tardis for good, the bring the children home from the war, but then, how he became engulfed in the power of his dagger, and the Tardis, and began evil, punishing those who wronged him. Leaving them on war torn planets.
He had never meant to stay with Mia, he has planned for a quick trip back to where he had come from, when he was a small child, before he ran and ran and ran... But then, his love for her engulfed him, and here he was now. Still inflicting evil over the loss of his son and wife. Searching endlessly for Bealfire.
Belle gently placed her hand on his shoulder as she walked up to him, and he turned to her, shocked by this act of kindness, and the gentleness of the movement.
"He is out there, and we will find him." She assured him softly.
She takes his hands in hers, at this moment, she is still his prisoner, not yet anything more.
"I know he will... Why do you show compassion to me!? I keep you locked up here, dearie!"
"To travel, I can see the world, something you said I would never do. Even if I see the evil that is put on it, but I know you can change, Rumple, I know that you can stop inflicting pain, and one day, you will go through the galaxies, able to see light."
"Oh, but look around! The darkness! It is just like me, not a kind moonlight darkness, but an evil darkness, swallowing galaxies without a notion, for taking it's wrath on the innocent. I am the darkness in a galaxy, dearie, and Nothing can change that"
"Oh, but it will" Belle continued. "I can see it!"
"But yet you over look all else! You dearie or lonely here, you are the moon's shine, lovely." He returned to his place, staring out the window in to the deep darkness.
"No...I have you, I'm not lonely..."
-2 years later-
The fireball sent by the monster hurtled torward the young child, Rumple ran in front of it, he never meant for his wrath to hurt the innocent who so much reminded him of Bea.
Belle cradled his head, and just as he was about to take his last breath, a gold light shot out from him.
Minutes later, he had regenerated, "Appears you are right, dearie, there is some good in me"
