"Dean! Look!" Cas suddenly shouted, pointing to the center of the river. They were walking in a park that had a large river coursing through it. Dean turned to look, and saw that Cas was pointing at a small, black cat crouched on a rock in the river. Before Dean can stop him, Cas ran down the back, yanked off his trench coat, and leaped into the water.

"Cas!" Dean hollered, following him to the bank. "It's just a cat!"

Cas ignored him, if he even heard Dean at all. He waded as far as he could, and then swam the last few feet to the cat. He gathered the scared, sopping wet ball of fur into his arms, and awkwardly swam with the cat until he could walk.

When they got to shore, Cas wrapped the cat in his coat and cradled it in his arms. Dean couldn't be mad at the angel when he saw how tenderly he was looking at the creature. It's head was poking out, and Dean noted that it's eyes were as blue as Cas'.

"Cas, why'd you do that?" He finally asked. Cas looked away from the cat for only a second.

"She needed my help."

"Alright, well you've helped her. Stick her on the ground and lets go." Dean said. His nose was staring to itch already.

But Cas shook his head. "She doesn't have a home. Dean, can I keep her?"

Dean gave him an incredulous look. "Cas, you're an angel. Where would you keep her?"

"With you."

"I'm allergic to cats."

"Then..." Cas trailed off, unable to counter that. His face took on a sad look, and he began to set the cat on the ground.

Dean couldn't stand Cas' mopey expression, and immediately changed his mind.

"Alright, Cas, you can keep the cat."

"Really?" Cas scooped her back up and smiled at Dean. They started walking again, and then Dean said, "Are you going to name her?"

"Oh. I hadn't thought of that."

"How about Maggie?"

"Sure. Maggie." Cas repeated. "Do you think Sam will like her?"

Dean shrugged. "He likes dogs."

When they reached the bunker, Cas released Maggie, and she circled his legs, purring.

"Interesting." Cas mused.

"Move, CatMan, you're blocking the doorway." Dean grumbled, pushing past Cas and Maggie.

Sam was sitting at the table downstairs, and Dean slumped into one of the chairs.

"What's up?" Sam asked, noticing Dean's discontent.

"Cas got a cat."

Sam chuckled. "Are you serious?"

He was answered by the loud meow of Maggie as Cas brought her into the room. She had smelled the chicken Sam was eating.

"I think she's hungry." Cas said. Sam burst out laughing.

"What?" Cas tilted his head in confusion.

"She can have some." Sam said, picking off a piece and giving it to Maggie, who gulped it down. Cas set her on the table, and Dean had to literally bite his tongue so as not to protest.

"Where'd you find her?" Sam asked, and Cas told the story.

"That explains why you're wet." Sam commented, "You should dry your clothes."

Dean led Cas to the laundry machines that were in the bunker, and they tossed everything of Cas' into the washer except his boxers. Maggie followed them, but after a while she disappeared. When Cas' clothes were finally dry, they went to find Maggie. They looked everywhere, but she was no where to be found. Cas was shattered by this, but Dean reassured him that Maggie really couldn't leave the bunker unless she had hands, which she didn't.

Finally they found her. Dean had been walking past his room, when he noticed the door was ajar. He and Cas went in, to find Maggie fast asleep and curled up on Dean's pillow.

"Dammit, Cas." Dean growled. Cas gave Dean a sorry look, and he rushed Maggie out of the room before Dean did.
