Really. REALLY. Random. I told my friend Suri that if I wrote this story, I should be shot.

…I'm still alive?

Disclaimer: Nothing.

-Affections-

They just don't know how to be affectionate with one another.

It's as simple as that.

So, they decide to hold hands. It felt nice the first time their fingers loosely hooked together. They seem to fit perfectly, and intertwine. Their hands are not calloused, but still soft, with their youth. Their age made them shy, but they were slowly opening up to each other.

Sasuke would brush his thumb over Naruto's index when he was happy. Naruto would start to grin lazily and rub a finger against his wrist. Dark eyes would always glance over at the blonde, who was smirking at him, and so he stepped in closer to his lover. He met the challenge.

They were still young. They did hope for love, someday, but they were not living for the future, only in their present. And in the now, they liked each other. They were shy, a little hesitant, but they still smiled for one another.

Naruto enjoyed seeing a happier side of Sasuke. One night the dark-haired boy dared steal a kiss from his partner's hand, and he did, before he ran away embarrassed, into the nighttime, calling out a faint, and guilty, goodnight. Naruto had teased him about that night, for the next week.

Sasuke still was not braver than Naruto, no matter how many times he leaned over and nuzzled a tan cheek. The night before last, as Naruto walked Sasuke home, he stole a kiss from the Uchiha male's cheek, right on his doorstep. He blushed, and then ran away too, with a cheeky grin.

Now, they were walking through the forest together. They did not want to say goodbye to one another just yet. It was dark out, the sky was navy, but the stars lit their way. They were not headed in any particular direction, just wanted to be alone, together.

The boys did not say anything, to one another; they simply kept walking. Sasuke seemed to want to lead the way. He silently tugged on Naruto's hand and led it in one direction. Naruto then stepped in closer.

Sasuke's smile was so inviting, Naruto could not resist. He followed his lover a little longer. Sasuke looked over to a pair of curious blue eyes and as they stared at him, he winked. There was a giggle. Naruto had never seen something so funny but endearing, at the same time.

They often laughed at each other. It was nice to unwind.

Naruto was still curious though and he let Sasuke amaze him. They reached one of the ridges of the forest, and from the clearing, they could both look up at the rocky monument, dedicated to the fallen father's of the village.

Naruto was smiling up at the faces, when he felt the second, almost foreign hand tilt his chin back to the face of his lover. Sasuke leaned in and he pressed his lips to Naruto's, for the second time, and absorbed all of the passion and emotions, in his red eyes.

It was brief, but so much better than the first.

When they parted, Sasuke murmured, ''You're going to be up there, someday…''

And Naruto knew from then on, he'd always want Sasuke.
