I own nothing, nor will I ever own anything, so don't bother asking or suing thank you… Ok, moving on…

Hello, yet another fanfic from me, the L drabble mistress. And once again, written ridiculously early in the morning… 5 am to be exact!

Anyways, at long last (thanks to long winded introductions) I give you…

"Not Moving!"

……………………………………….

Matsuda yawned as he pushed the door to L's new hotel room open. "Damn!" He mumbled under his breath, trying desperately to try and wake himself up. It would just be him and Ryuuzaki tonight… which meant he was in for a long night of forced silence, fallowed by awkward silence when he tried to start up a conversation, fallowed by… you guessed it, more silence. All while he awkwardly tired to look like he was keeping busy when, in actuality he didn't have much of anything to do.

"But I'll help to catch Kira, tired or not! I, the great Detective Matsuda will bring the villain to justice!" He suddenly declared, trying to look dramatic while suppressing another yawn.

With a sight, the young police office stepped into the main entrance and listened closely. "Great…" he sighed internally. He couldn't hear the familiar tap tapping of computer keys which meant that L was going over yet another set of security tapes. He hated the security tapes with a passion. They were so… BORING!

He forced his feet continue to move forward, and into the informal living room. There was L, his back to the entrance, curled into his usual fetal position which Matsuda was beginning to become so used to, facing his small, colored TV.

…But something was wrong…

It took only a few seconds to register in Matsuda's brain. The TV was on, but the screen showed nothing but snow, running randomly across it's domain as quickly as it could. Matsuda gasped in alarm and flung himself across the room towards L's chair. The boy suddenly seemed far too still to the young officer. Something had to be horribly wrong.

"He's fine…" he tried to reassure himself in vain, "There's no way Kira could have gotten to him. No way…" he thought, not really believing the words as they popped into his head.

He bumped into the low set coffee table. And a very sugary cup of tea that had been sitting on the edge was sent crashing loudly to the ground. The police detective froze for a split second in absolute horror… the sound hadn't caused the slightest reaction from the boy who sat with his back to him. His feet started moving again without his say so, and in less than a second Matsuda had crossed the rest of the room and found himself kneeling in front of the greatest detective in the world.

L sat stalk still, his body uncommonly relaxed and his eyes firmly closed. Matsuda looked closely, but he couldn't see Ryuuzaki's chest falling and rising. "He looks…" the officer though, before suddenly stopping himself. He wouldn't finish the thought, he just wouldn't.

Tentatively, he placed a shaking hand on Ryuuzaki's shoulder and almost drew back immediately… his skin was cool to the touch. "L?" He asked. The boy showed no signs of hearing him, and Matsuda began to panic. "L? Ryuuzaki?! L?!?!" He yelled, shaking his body with both hands. L flopped around in his arms like a rag doll, and Matsuda dropped him, suddenly too afraid to continue to touch him.

And then, Ryuuzaki's eye's suddenly fluttered slightly, and he snorted loudly though his nose before mumbling quietly, "Mmm… strawberries… No, not in the ear…" before he settled back down, and returned to his stalk still positon.

"He's… he's asleep?!" Matsuda burst, not sure if he should be angry or relieved.

Eventually thought, the young cop opted for shock, "HE SLEEPS?!"

Q!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Q

Well that's it. Tell me what you thought!
