Dedication goes to Zoe Alice Latimer.

Oh, Midas is king and he holds me so tight, and turns me to gold in the sunlight.

He can give it to you. Everything you want to see, all the roads you want to walk. All of time. All of space. Anything. Three thousand wishes.

The king that turns things to gold with a touch, he has so much to offer.

Yellow love and sparkling worth in the dusty beams.

In control. Come here. Trust me. I'm the

king.

He's the king, the king that kills everything he brushes with a finger. The king who starves because no matter how much substance he surrounds himself with, he is broken (he broke himself) and he can't leave things be. They turn beautiful and lose breath.

A long time ago, he let himself be haunted, he gave himself what he wanted. Not seeing what it would mean for others. By now, he knows, but he can't help sweeping the people off their feet. Watching the gold dust waft away's the part he denies until they're dead.

And he runs and the goldfire freezes the road he travels on.

This is a gift, it comes with a price.
