It was a sunny day in Echo Creek, California and Marco Diaz was enjoying it to it's fullest by sitting on the couch watching television. It was still early, not even past noon, so he didn't really view himself as being lazy. He especially didn't find himself lazy since his best friend and housemate, Star Butterfly, had only just woken up a few minutes ago.
She had meandered down the stairs with half-lidded eyes and several yawns for extra measure to prove she was tired. After yawning her way through a quick bowl of cereal she retreated back upstairs to assumedly get herself ready for the day. She and Marco didn't have any special plans, they were just going to go dimension hopping like usual.
Marco chuckled to himself, if you had told him last year that he'd be travelling through dimensions with a magical princess, he'd have called the police to have you sent to a mental institution. Yet here he was, sitting on the couch waiting for Star to hurry up and get ready so they could get out in the universe and have some fun. Just waiting… and waiting some more… and some more…
"Alright that's it." Marco declared to himself as he suddenly hopped up from the couch. He shut the TV off using the remote before dropping it onto the couch, so it could get lost in the cushions… again. He marched up the stairs and straight to the door of Star Butterfly, decorated with several drawings and phrases.
One particular phrase always pleased Marco, 'Boys Allowed'. So, exercising his right of entry, he gripped the doorknob and pushed the door inward, not realizing he was making a huge mistake.
"Hey, Star what's taking… so…" Marco's voice trailed off as he stepped foot into her bedroom and froze.
There, standing next to her bed in all her glory, was Star Butterfly. His best friend and housemate was standing there. Naked.
"Ithoughtyouwerereadysorry!" Marco shouted as he covered his eyes and quickly backed out of the room, closing the door in front of himself.
Marco stayed outside of Star's room with a red face as he waited for her to finish, or technically begin, dressing herself. That was seriously stupid of him, what kind of person enters someone's bedroom without knocking first? The type of person who is an idiot named Marco, apparently.
"Sorry about the wait." Star said as she exited her bedroom with a smile.
"Oh, um, it's uh, ya know. It's fine." Marco said avoiding eye contact and rubbing the back of his neck nervously.
"You ready to head out?" Star asked holding up her, or rather Pony Head's, dimensional scissors.
"Oh… yeah, sure. Let's go." Marco said clearing his throat as Star cut open a portal to a random dimension. "Hey, Star…"
Star stopped with one foot in the portal as she turned to face the blushing boy. "Yeah?"
"I'm really sorry about… you know…" Marco looked away out of shame.
"Oh, don't worry about it! No biggie." Star said waving her hand dismissively as she finished her entrance into the new dimension. "Just don't expect me to knock either."
