CHAPTER ONE
I was doodling in my notebook as the teacher droned on. Ugh; math class is horrible. I heard the door open and looked up. A boy was standing there. He looked goth or emo with his dark attire, pale skin, and pitch black hair that covered his eyes. My best friend, Marina, nudged me.
"He's HOT!" she whispered. I rolled my eyes; Marina can be so annoying.
"Class; listen up! We have a new student. Please introduce yourself." Our teacher, Mrs. Corr, told the boy.
"Nico Di Angelo." He said and looked up. His eyes were pitch black abysses. His voice sounded emotionless. I looked around the classroom to see half of the girls swooning over Nico. Ugh. I looked at Marina and saw that she was staring dreamily at him too. I face palmed.
"Now, Nico; you can go sit next to Cassadilia." I flinched at my full name then my brain caught up and realized that Nico would be sitting next to me. Just great.
I raised my hand to show him where I was. He came over and sat down.
"Hello, my name is Cassadilia, but you can call me Cassy." I said trying to be friendly.
"Okay." He said without even looking at me.
By now I was annoyed. I decided that I would just ignored him.
TIME SKIP- AFTER SCHOOL
I was walking home after school listening to Marina drone on about Nico.
"He's so cool! I mean, he's,like, awesome! BLAH, BLAH,BLAH..." she ranted.
We went into our house and I made myself a sandwich. I started living with Marina and her family after my Mother, Lily, died. I never knew my father. Marina also never knew her dad so I guess that was one of the things that made us close friends. Marina had a big sister named Lisa who was actually pretty cool. Marina's mom, Emily, should be getting off of work soon...
There was a knock at the door and I went to go answer it since Marina disappeared.
"Hello- Nico?"
"Hey, can I talk to your parent?" He asked, as if it was completely normal to ask for a talk with your new classmate's parents.
"Mine are dead, sorry." I said coldly. I got this way when I talked about my parents.
"Oh, how about your friends?" He asked.
"At work."
He sighed.
"I guess I'll come back later..."
"Hey! What's this about anyways?"
"It's simple. You and your friend are demigods." Blunt.
"Eh?"
