Sad FACE family fic.
Dear Papa,
Today was fun, I guess. Me and Al just vegged-out and watched TV all day. Dad tried to cook, but I had to take over, because…well, you know what he's like…Of course you do…
Matthew put his pen down on the crumpled bit of paper, already making the ink run with his tears. Of course he knew what Dad was like…
The Canadian boy sobbed, hugging his knees as he remembered their father – his jokes, his smiles, his flirtatious behaviour…he had his faults, but Matthew would have done anything to bring him back home again….anything.
Alfred rolled his eyes, still not seeing why he had to write a letter to his father. The father who abandoned them all, leaving Arthur to raise him and his brother. Sighing, he swallowed his pride and put pen to paper.
Francis.
He wasn't ever going to call him 'Papa' again.
Thanks for ditching us, ass-hole. I'm not sorry. It wasn't fair, you leaving us like that. I don't need you anyway.
Alfred F. Jones (your former son, in case you forgot, jerk)
Okay, so it was a bit harsh, but it's not like he was going to read them anyway.
Arthur sat on their – his bed, biting his bottom lip. He had forced the boys to write their father a letter, which meant he was obliged to write one too.
Dear Francis,
I just want you to know, none of us have forgotten you…
They got into the car, their letters in their hands. Alfred's face was angered, but showed a hint of regret at being so harsh to his father. Matthew was trying to stop the tears flowing down his cheeks, and Arthur's face was unreadable; the perfect mask of a broken man.
Alfred's still mad at you for leaving, but he knows there was nothing you, or any of us could have done…
They walked, hand in hand through the silent sleeping place of many – fallen soldiers, elderly gone peacefully in their sleep, and ones who died before their time. They stopped in front of a simple gravestone, with the words 'Francis Bonnefoy. Gone before his time.' engraved on it.
I love you, and I miss you…
Lots of love,
Arthur.
They family placed their letters next to the words, paying their respects.
We all love you, and we all miss you, Papa.
Lots of love, Alfred F. Jones, Matthew Williams, and Arthur Kirkland.
A/N: sorry i had this random idea thingy and decided to write it. Sorry cuz its crappy
