Disclaimer: No, I do not own Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi or Spirited Away. Hayao Miyazaki does. If I did, I would make a clone of Haku and marry him. *winks* I think most of us would want that.^_~

Author note: Yay, my second Spirited Away poem!!! This one is from Chihiro's P.O.V as well. I would like to thank all of those kind people out there who reviewed my first poem "The Wind Is Calling". I'm so, so glad you liked it! I'm dedicating this one to all of you! Merry Christmas!!!

Waiting

I have seen the yellow leaves
Fall from their branches
Then, carried by the wind
To somewhere far, far away
Beyond my reach
They fade in front of my eyes
Slowly disappearing,
Into the distance,
Into nothingness.

What will become of these memories?
Would they stay as vivid
As they once were on those summer days?
Or would they become
Mere scenes from dusk,
Eventually
Disappearing like those leaves?

I have not the answer
But I can only hope
For the sake of someone
For the sake of that person's return
I will not forget.
I shall remember,
I shall believe,
I shall wait.

Even if the ample blossoms wither away
I would still wait
Until the last yellow leaf
Is struck down by the gentle breeze

And if it should prove a fruitless wait,
In the next life
As a cloud, I would wait for the raising wind
As a mountain, for an echo
As a tree, for returning birds
As human, I should wait
For the sake of that important person,
For the sake of a promise,
For the sake of myself.

Until the moment
My dragon returns to me
Until the day
When we shall meet again
I shall remain
Forever waiting.
