The dewy, ever-green foliage seeped into my loosely fitting trousers. Narrowing my hazel colored eyes, I crept forwards, sliding my body over the leaf-strewn ground. I breathed deeply, without a sound escaping. The bitter winds tore through the trees; masking any loud mistakes. I held it in my hand firmly, the point away from me, catching the last of the sun's rays and reflecting it onto the undergrowth. I clenched the hilt, ensuring it wouldn't slip from my clasp but was free to move as I willed; an extended member of my body.

And there she was.

That innocent girl who had caused all that damage. My next victim. My next act of heroism.

I stood, crouched in the shadows of the trees, careful to not be seen by her.

Now.

She was just a few feet away. Just a quick run and slash of my hand was all that was needed. Except that's not what I do. My skill requires precision, one slip and everything could be over.

Stepping out of the darkness and into the dull glow of the streetlights, I fell into step behind her.

She sensed my presence after just a few moments, I wasn't surprised for the human body is an amazing invention of the Gods.

She paused, I very nearly bumped into the back of her but I stopped in time; my breathe practically misting her neck. She looked around and our eyes met mine, my hazel and her blue.

Tilting my head and giving her a triumphant smirk, I watched as her expression turned to one of panic.

Stumbling backwards, her muscles tensed to run but I just approached her further. I noticed how her mouth opened to speak and I sprang into action, covering her lips with my covered hands.

I quenched her scream, dragging her into the trees. Splatters of rain fell onto the already congested floor. This rain could have been the downfall of me; her blood mingling with the streaky patterns of the salty liquid. Placing my free arm around her waist, I hoisted her up and carried her further into the dark until the only visible light was that of the silver moon.

A/N: I hope you enjoyed this quick introduction to the story and hopefully it didn't give too much away as I want everything to be revealed slowly. Please leave your feedback and I'll write another chapter shortly.
