Author's Note: This is a side story from my Transformers retelling series (Briley's story, ect.) taking place between Chasing Summer and When We Stand Together to fill in some of the holes. I own nothing but my OCs
Memories I
Almost a month after she had helped rescue Summer from Egypt, Briley Andrews stumbled into the rec room with a large cardboard box. "What in the world is that?" Kinsey, Briley's cousin, asked in astonishment. She wasn't the only one staring. Everyone in the room, Autobot holoform or not, was gaping at the lieutenant.
"If only I could get this much attention when it was important," Briley mumbled and there were several laughs.
"Fine, fine. We get the point," Summer said from Kinsey's side. "Now what is in there?"
"Donnely's parents finally brought themselves to look through his stuff a couple weeks ago," Briley said. "They found his DVD collection, the stuff we'd recorded or Dad recorded for us before he passed away, and sent it to us. Us being me, Kinsey, and Carter of course. Kinsey there's another box outside. Go get it."
"Who do you think I am? Cinderella?" Kinsey complained but she went anyway and brought the other box in. Briley cut open the first one and a medium size oak trunk greeted them.
"Not ready for that," Briley mumbled and pushed the box aside, pulling the other one towards her. The second box yielded stacks of DVD cases, only about half of them with labels.
"Dare I ask why all this aren't labeled?" Lennox asked, glancing into the box and pulling out a blank one.
"Because we didn't bother with all of them," Briley replied with a shrug. "We'd tape them, burn them on DVDs and then say we'd label them later but we always forgot. All of Dad's are labeled though."
"Because he labeled everything," Carter said. "Including the stuff under the kitchen sink."
"He did get a little crazy with the label maker," Briley said absently, holding a DVD case. "I haven't seen these in ages."
"What are they?" Kinsey asked, bouncing slightly. "Come on, don't leave me in suspense!"
"Our old rodeo tapes," Briley said, tossing the DVD case back to Kinsey. "That's sixth grade, the year we started." Kinsey popped it in the DVD player and it started playing. "All pictures that year," Briley said thoughtfully.
"Yeah," Carter said. "It was the year before Uncle Luke got the video camera."
"And it was glued to his hand after that," Kinsey said with a laugh. "Come and watch Bri. We'll look at the others later."
