Ginny tapped her fingers onto the table. She couldn't believe she had let Hermione talk her into this. She couldn't really blame the other woman, Ginny had been complaining a lot that she was never going to find the love of her life and die in some horrible accident involving the twenty cats she owned, but Ginny still found a way to.

She couldn't believe that she was going on a blind date, especially considering the only men Hermione knew other than Ginny's brothers, Harry, and Neville were the men she worked with, and the few times Ginny had gone to Hermione's work to meet up for lunch, they had all looked terrified of her.

Ginny didn't want a boy who was terrified of her. She wanted a man who wanted to do what he wanted because that was what he felt like he needed to do. She wanted a man who at the end of his life, regretted what he had done instead of what he didn't do. She wanted a man who lived, a man who took what he wanted, and a man who knew that just because he had something today didn't mean he would have it tomorrow. She wanted that.

She needed that.

She didn't think Hermione knew any men like that.

"Ginny Veasley?" she heard a voice behind her. Ginny twisted around to see, of all the people in the world, Viktor Krum. He was looking at her, just as shocked as she was about the fact that Hermione had decided to set them up.

"Krum?!" she nearly yelled. "Are you here . . .?" she pointed at herself, and then to Krum.

He nodded mutely.

"Huh," she said, looking at him up and down. Krum was handsome man, a good man, a man. . .

A man who lived.

Ginny smiled. She had to give it to Hermione. She could pick a man.
