A Dean/Parvati HC
Inspired by the song Collide by Howie Day.
(As far as I'm aware both Padma and Lavender survived the war in the books the story just seemed to work better this way)
He had always loved her. He could even remember as clear as day when it had started. Their third year in Professor Lupin's class on boggarts. Hers had been a huge snake just like what he had imagined it would become for him. He'd been too shy to tell her how he felt and the next few years had been painful. The next year in particular. When it had been announced that the Yule Ball would be held he had planned on asking her but had been beaten to it right at the last minute. He'd joined the DA after learning that she was going to be a part of it and had paid more attention to her than what they were being taught. The next couple of years had been quiet but tense. Like waiting for a dam to break. Now as he sat there holding her close as she cried he knew that when the dust cleared it would finally be the right time. As Parvati cried over Padma and Lavender's bodies, Dean hugged her close and kissed the top of her head. He would always love her and although it had taken this long for him to find the courage to tell her, he would never take life with her for granted.
