The birth of Victoire.
It was a month to go until their child would be born and Bill Weasley was in the nursery building the crib. He could have used magic but he'd felt it would be more fun to build it without magic. Two days before, his parents had arrived. They would be staying to help look after the child for a few weeks. He was just putting the final touches on the crib when he heard a scream. He dropped everything and bolted down to see what was wrong. Fleur was sitting on the ground in a pool of blood. She looked up as he ran over. "Something's wrong William...I can feel it." He scooped her up and apparated to St. Mungo's without another thought.
As the Healers checked Fleur over, he owled the family letting everyone know as much as he did.
And as everyone started showing up he tried to keep a strong face.
As Fleur went through labour, Bill struggled to stop himself from crying. He could tell something was very wrong. The family gathered around him with various family members hugging him for comfort.
There was suddenly a screaming and crying that wasn't Fleur. Bill ran into the room to see the Healer holding a little baby girl. She was alive and healthy. A little smaller than she should have been but healthy. Fleur was crying and Bill hugged her. "She's ok Fleur she's beautiful." He assured her as the family came in.
"What're you going to call her?" Ron asked. Gabrielle who had been quietly sitting next to the door spoke up. "Qu'en est-il nommer son Victoire?" Bill, who had learned French from Fleur smiled. "It fits...given how she came into the world." Fleur was quiet. "It also works because of what today is as well." They all looked at her momentarily puzzled. Then Harry spoke quietly "May second...What does Victoire mean?" Gabrielle stood and smiled "Eet is French for Victory." she explained. Everyone smiled and sat quietly reflecting on this.
"It's perfect. Victoire Weasley." Bill said. He held her close and smiled as she yawned and snuggled up to go to sleep. Bill could tell she was going to be very strong-willed and independent just like her mother.
