The day started out as any other day in the Hidden Leaf Village. Everyone was doing something to occupy themselves. The sun was out. Children in the Ninja Academy were joyfully awaiting the winter break that would occur that day. In the building, out of the thirty students in the classroom, three kids sat, obviously bored with that day's lesson. Their names were as follows: Matsuyu Uzumaki, Tsukiko Uchiha, and Sasame Akimichi. As their teacher's lecture ran vaguely through their minds, they were all thinking the same thing.

'When I get out of school and become a genin, I won't ever have to hear Master Iruka's voice again.'

This, of course, was not completely true. But when do twelve year olds think clearly?

So, when the bell rang and signaled that the school day was done, each and every student jumped out of their seats, acknowledging the fact that they were now on winter break and would only have half a year until they took their Genin Exams. Rushing through the doors, everyone was called back into the classroom to receive their winter assignment. That year's assignment was to question their parents about their lives as leaf ninja and write a report about what they found out. It had to be accurate, seeing as Iruka already knew about their parent's lives.

As you, the reader, may have guessed, this story is about the students who have their names written above. So, I'll start by telling the story of their parents.
