the color is blinding presents "fear", the newest one-shot to be yet created from the depths of my disturbing mind. Inspiration for this piece came directly from The Gravedigger's Daughter, by Joyce Carol Oates. Enjoy~

"And so, those evenings Pa turned to her, the little one, taking her hands and pulling her to him, laughing, teasing, whispering to her of such strange fanciful things she could not comprehend, how should she resist, how should she run from him, oh she could not!" -The Gravedigger's Daughter
He was coming for her, for her. Running now, running faster, so she was hiding crouching but no it didn't work he could see her. Mangled yellow teeth, crooked and ugly:
"Get over here now!"
Whimpering and scared she crept out from under the old table and came closer closer and then she couldn't go further she was too afraid, afraid. He snarled angry and then his teeth gnashed together in a sneer so afraid can't move closer and then he spoke and his words were ugly ugly scary words:
"Samantha you fucking damn bitch come here now. Goddamn it I'll kill you if you fucking don't."
He was mad so mad so scary and mad and no she didn't want to but she didn't know how she could say no or else bad things would happen even worse things so she went and she was scared but she had to and now she was standing by his lap and oh no he was very mad and he smelt bad and she braced herself for what was about to come.
His eyes narrowed his veins bulged and he raised his hand and was mad oh so very mad and she was afraid.
The hand whipped down and it hurt it hurt so bad and her face stung and no not as much as her arm it hurt it hurt it hurt so much.
"Daddy stop, please! I'm sorry!" She cried as his hand came down again again again and then he pushed her down to the floor and he hurt her and she was so afraid and so confused and what did she do wrong she didn't mean to do anything bad but why she had been a good girl and where was Mom where was she why couldn't she come here to help her oh please why didn't she come rescue her was she afraid too make it stop please please make him go away.
He stood up after a long while of pain everywhere.
Smiled.
And walked away away far away she hoped and she was left cold and alone and hurt on the floor with bruises and it hurt oh please make the pain go away she was so afraid. Why did he hurt her she didn't know and she was so confused and sad and there she was lying on the floor and then Mommy comes in later much later and looks at her there and cries and cries because she knows that she couldn't have stopped him from doing it and she knows that she loves a monster and that she can't help it because she loves him but he is a mean person a mean mean evil person who hurts children for fun because he needs it because he's sick and not right and it's wrong, so she cries and picks Samantha up and carries the girl to her room and then she locks the door and lays with her daughter until they both stop crying and they are so afraid and they know they can't do anything about it unless they want to be hurt more and they are just so so afraid. They live their lives in fear because yes they know they live with a monster but they can't help but love him despite his illness and they know that the only way for this to get better is for it to stop, but they don't know how to do that because they are afraid so so afraid.
