I was 7 when I first started admiring him, I would look at him as if he was a shining star, but he was. He was my shining star. I often heard daddy joking about me growing up and us falling in love, but he would always just sneer at the thought and turn away. Mama would smile and roll her eyes.

I was in the garden playing with him and his sister. They were watching me for the day. We were playing in the tree. Well, he had climbed up the tree so that I couldn't get to him, and I was trying to climb up the tree to get him. He said he was going to beat me up and his sister broke into her angelic laughter at his antics, they both knew he wouldn't do it, but I didn't.

I was older now; I could climb that damn tree all the way to the top with no problem. But now the three of us were just sitting under it, playing truth or dare. It was my turn now, and I dared him to kiss me. His sister smiled widely as he stood up and at a rather slow speed for him tried to kiss me. I ran, screaming and giggling like the little 10 year old girl I was. He chased me around the garden, not using his super speed, that we all knew he had, to catch me. All our laughter filled the air, mine seeming dull in comparison to their angelic voices.

I was 16 now, and he didn't look at me the same way he had before, I wasn't that little girl anymore, but his beautiful crimson eyes still shined like pretty lights. And daddy used to joke about the two of us; he never believed we would really fall in love. And my mama smiled and rolled her eyes.

It was 2 am, daddy would be mad that we were still out. We had gone down to the creek to play, and now we were finally on our way back. I smiled brightly to myself as I leaned over to the seat to kiss his icy cheek; he smiled brilliantly and grabbed my hand.

We had our first fight. I had made a disgruntled comment about his way of eating, and it resulted in a screaming match. In the end I stormed back to my room crying from his harsh words, he had called me a stupid pathetic human, and slammed the door in his face, instead of kissing him like usual. He was sitting there, with his back against the wall his knees bent slightly with his arms resting on them and his head bowed, when I left the room the next morning.

It was nearing the date of my turning and I was so terribly terrified. He was comforting me as we sat in the garden playing GO, and he looked at me and got down on one knee. My eyes got wide. 'Marry me, Mary' he had said softly 'be my mate from now until forever, officially."

I was wearing a blood red dress, a beautiful one. My father was holding his arm out for me, and I took it graciously. Walking down the isle towards you was the most exiting time of my undead life. Everyone from the Volturi was there, mama had a huge smile of her face, and with a roll of her eyes she winked at me. Jane gave me a knowing look and she ran a hand over her abdomen discreetly, a wicked grin plastered on her face as she glanced at her brother, but there was love and adoration for the both of us in her eyes.

It was official, I was his, and he was mine, and she was ours. Father hadn't been happy to find that I was with child, and a half breed at that. He had been chewed out forcibly by both my father and my uncles. But now everything was good, Jane was playing with our baby girl in the garden while he held my body against him, his frozen breath no longer chilling me as he rested his head of my shoulder. 'She's beautiful. Looks just like you.' He had said. 'I love you, Alec.' I replied smiling as Jane caught our baby before she fell.
