Kallista shrugged. "What's so appealing about vanilla cake?"

Chris grinned. "It's a natural flavor! It takes less time to bake."

They were sitting in the Iris cabin, discussing random things. Kallista held a half-eaten green apple in one hand and a pencil in the other."But vanilla is so...boring. Why not coconut? Or strawberry? Or, ooh, pineapple?"

"Coconut cake sounds like it would taste weird..."

Kallista took another bite of her apple, shrugging again. "I like it."

"But, really, why not just vanilla?"

"It's so...plain. Shoot for bigger and better things. Cinnamon, brown butter. Anything but vanilla."

"Is there actually a brown butter flavor?"

"Yeah. I prefer brown butter ice cream over the cake flavor, but I like both."

"That's interesting. But why not just chocolate?"

"Don't ask 'why not', ask 'why'. It's just...So ordinary."

"But, it's so good!"

"Well, yeah, but everyone knows chocolate cake. Have you ever heard people talking about mint chocolate chip cake?

"That's an actual cake flavor?"

"Yes."

"Have you ever made it before?"

"No."

"How hard do you think it is to make?"

"I don't know."

"Then let's make it."

"Wait, really?"

"Yeah! It'll be fun."

"Then let's do it, sir."

"You want to finish your apple first?"

Kallista shrugged before eating the last few bites. "Okay, let's do this," she mumbled with a full mouth.

Look at this train wreck hahhahahahaha. Sorry that it's short and stupid and just bleh. I got a random attack of writers block. I guess it's just a drabble, then. Sorry, but I hope you like it anyway, Tri!
