Coming Back

Summary: RJ and Theo have a conversation after Blue Ranger, Twin Danger. Sequel to Tales of Estrangement.
Disclaimer: Don't own them.
"So, that is what you were talking about when carrying promises mean nothing. You were talking about your brother," RJ said.
He didn't need to open his eyes or turned around from his meditation position to know that Theo was behind him. Theo had the lightest step out of the bunch. Sometimes, he is even able to sneak up on him when he wasn't paying attention. Theo took Master Swoop's lessons to heart and ran with them. On that same note, when Theo is upset or happy, he was much louder like now.
He was surprised like everyone else that Theo had a brother…much less a twin. Lily didn't even know. The more that he learned the history between Theo and his brother…the more, it made sense. It gave him insight and understanding of his student.
It also made his comments on the relationship between himself and his dad make sense.
Theo had experience in that matter of the heart.
He could almost hear Theo stop and make a face or winced at his statement. There is a possible that he is doing both.
"Yes. I'm surprised that you remember that," Theo said in a moment of silence.
"I have a memory like a steel trap," He said happily.
"Maybe, the best description would be a net because I remember the ground beef being left out on the counter just yesterday."
"It was taking a vacation from being cooked."
"Ah."
He heard Theo shifted back and forward like he was debating about joining him or running away to join the circus. He was leaning toward the latter choice.
"What promises did you make?" He asked.
For awhile, Theo didn't answer then he started to talk.
"I would call as soon as I am settled…as soon as he calmed down. I thought about it during our birthday or Christmas then I would talk myself out of it. Telling myself that it wouldn't be a good time, I could never find a good time. Turn around…it was four years later. You?"
"I talked him every Christmas…every Father's Day…every…"
"RJ…."
He sighed. Once upon a time, Theo would have dropped the subject.
That was until he started hanging out with Master Swoop that he started to see a change.
Overall, it was positive.
Now, it is coming to bit him in the butt.
"Every Christmas…I would try. It is hard. Dad didn't approve and I was too stubborn. We are different individuals with different personalities and paths. We are the yin and yang. We are the ocean and the…"
Theo started laughing.
"You do realize that Lu and I are totally different from each other. We drive each other nuts every time we met and it took us four years to stop being idiots."
He chuckled. Although, he talked to his dad a lot more than that, he understood.
"But I love my brother and I missed him dearly. I didn't realize how much until I saw him again. I remember his goofy smile and his love of music. I remember how he thought of me stick in the mud. I thought he was a train wreck waiting to happening. But yet…"
He understood.
He understood the moment that he saw his dad for the first time in years. Not in a letter or some one worded conversation over the phone.
"And yet…standing there face to face. It doesn't matter anymore," He said.
"That sounded about right," Theo said.
He heard Theo move toward him and take a seat next to him.
"So…I no longer have the most awkward moment award. I think that you win with your brother."
Theo snorted.
"That? That was nothing. Wait until you see him in the kitchen. You will be amazed on how many things that Lu can burn down without even trying."
He almost wanted to open his eyes and break his positive state of mind.
So instead, he started to laugh and soon, Theo joined in.
For many years, they carried around broken promises.
Now?
Now, they were free of them. It felt kind of nice if you asked him.
