Author's note- this is my very first fanfic! I know it's rough, but I really hope you like it. :-) Constructive criticism is welcome and greatly appreciated!
Kevin watches as Edd's chest rises and falls in his sleep. His hat on the floor beside them, his lips slightly parted as he breathes, deep and even. It's been a month since they started dating, and they decided to spend the day together at Kevin's house. Kevin had also surprised Eddward with a homemade dinner, Paste e Fagioli, an authentic Italian dish otherwise known as 'baked rigatoni.' Once they finished their meal, they migrated into Kevin's room for a movie. Nestled together on the bed, Eddward had started to fall asleep. Kevin knew that his boyfriend was tired, so he didn't mind seeing that he had fallen asleep, as this gave him a chance to see Edd in his most vulnerable state.
At first, he didn't know what it was that attracted him to the smarter male. As children, Edd was someone that Kevin had never gotten to spend a lot of time with, as their social statuses caused them to clique with different people. Every passing in the halls, every time they ran into each other in the Cul de Sac, Kevin would wish that he and Edd could have been better friends. It wasn't until their senior year, when Kevin's grades started slipping and he was at risk of losing his football scholarship, that he and Edd had started associating again. It was a Sunday morning, it had taken Kevin all night to muster up the courage to ask Edd to tutor him. His stomach had started to ache as his chest tightened, making it difficult for him to breathe. He wasn't the shy type, and the sudden wave of nervousness was a new experience for him. He tried to shake it off before heading across the street and knocking on Edd's door. It didn't take him very long to realize his feelings for the dorky teen. Edd was intelligent, yes, but he was so much more than that. His eyes were wide, as if they were always about to pop out, and full of life. They were the same eyes that made Kevin's breath hitch every time they fell on him, and Kevin loved them. He loved every millimeter that made up the gap between his two front teeth. He loved the way his long, raven hair contrasted against his pale skin and made his eyes pop. His lips resemble a heart shape, full enough to be defined, but also thin enough to remain masculine. Kevin remembered their first kiss, it was an accident; Edd had been helping him solve a problem on his math homework, and when Kevin managed to get it right, Edd had been so overjoyed that he grabbed him and kissed him. Kevin remembered the butterflies in his stomach, the perspiration in his palms, and his pulse beating loudly behind his eardrums as if it echoed off of the walls when Eddward had kissed him. It had been the first of many that evening.
This has been the greatest month of my life and it's all because of you..
Kevin watched Edd sleep for a while longer, tracing his features with his eyes before slowly and carefully bending down to place a soft kiss on the sleeping teen's forehead. He saw Edd's brow furrow at the contact, and he groaned slightly in his sleep. After making sure that he hadn't woken his boyfriend up, Kevin carefully entangled himself with Eddward. He wrapped his arms around him and tucking his face into his boyfriend's neck, nestling his face into his clean, soft hair. He could smell the faint smell of his shampoo, and he smiled. He needed to tell him exactly how he felt, but he wasn't ready yet. It was too soon. So instead, he would mumble the three words into Edd's neck as he slept.
"I love you, dork."
