Another day at home, means another opportunity of bantering Sakura for entertainment. The Yamanaka princess doesn't understand why she finds it so thrilling to do so. Sakura is no longer the introverted and timid girl anymore. If anything it'd become a bad habit on Ino's part, though one she wasn't willing to give up anytime soon.
"Hey, can you move a bit? The shine from your forehead is hurting my eyes?" Ino greeted as Sakura walked into her flower shop. She scowled, and muttered an tired comment before browsing the shop on her own.
"I see your insults are creative as ever. Glad to know you're putting recycling to good use, princess piggy," she said without turning away from the tulips in front of her. Her best friend seemed focus on the flowers, but she knew that staring at the same one for over ten minutes was abnormal for her.
Ino let a few moments pass by before speaking up. "You know I'm always here to help you know," she spoke softly. After the war was gone, its strange how normal everything became. They came out as winners, but not without the scars to show for it. Ino was left with the hardest task in telling her mother that her father passed away. It took time, but the tears stopped leaving stains in the end. Still, she knows that she needed to step forward to a new tomorrow. Ino will never forget the past, but she won't linger in them either because they helped shaped her to the woman she's proud to be now. Now where her worries lies most is the present and her friends. A trait her father acknowledge and was proud of her for it. "Flowers are my specialty after all."
Sakura turns around and gave a weak smile in return, grabbing a bunch of purple tulips and setting it on the counter. Ino smirked, knowing she couldn't keep quiet for too long. "I'm doing much better than you think. It just gets lonely sometimes. Just when we finally get together, they just get up and leave me behind again."
"Sasuke and Naruto?" Ino mused. Was that all? But she knew its more than that. " They've been gone half a year. Trust them a bit, they're only gone to clean up the political messes they left from their crazy adventures apart."
"Still, its just that they forget that I'm part of team 7 too…," the young Kunoichi slouched her shoulders before giving out a lonely sigh.
"Then that's all the better. They need someone to come back home to."
She shifted her shoulders a bit, before her green eyes shined brightly and a wide grin spread to her face.
"After all, only someone with a big as forehead as you can be their beacon of light when they lose their way home."
Sometimes Ino just couldn't resist, even in moments like these.
This is my first fanfiction post ever, or drabble since its really short. I've never explored this type of writing before and this was something I whipped up on the bus too.
Reviews and constructive criticisms are much appreciated! :)
