Chapter One

The stars shined throughout the navy-colored sky as Brambleclaw awoke in the depths of the night. I have to get this done and over with. Careful not to disturb any other of the dozing cats, he rose to his paws and stretched, feeling more awake. He stepped over to the entrance of the den and slipped outside. He warily turned back to his den to make sure nobody was watching him. Sound asleep. Brambleclaw then padded towards the wall until he was leaning against it.

Berrynose is on guard. I have to find an alternate route out of the camp.

Brambleclaw focused his eyes on a few routes outward. He peered over to a slope full of pebbles and rocks.

It's worth a try.

Brambleclaw crouched into the ferns to decline his chance of getting caught. He crawled under the ferns, careful not to reveal his scent. When he reached the other side, he warily stepped out of the ferns. Peering up, he planed his escape route, taking notice of all of the pebbles that he could risk moving on his climb upward.

If any of these pebbles drop, I'm crow-food.

Brambleclaw examined the steep slope once again, making his final judgment. With approval, he climbed upward and headed out of the camp. He then sped through the forest, careful of any possible threats. He eventually found his way to what looked like a rabbit hole. Brambleclaw found his way inside to find numerous directions in a cave with a dark river. He sniffed his way through, looking for the place he needed to get to.

The cave was dark, except for small holes through the earth on the top. A river followed it, as it flooded and collapsed the tunnels numerous times. Brambleclaw noticed a small stream developing in the caves.

Follow it.

Brambleclaw watched the river as it slowly grew in width, large enough that it became a river. Above it a large light cast over, making the water in the small pool glimmer with pride. Brambleclaw searched in the depths of the water. He found what looked like a small cave underwater. Holding his breath, he jumped in and dove straight to the cave. When he got inside of it, everything seemed so much smaller. The cave wasn't filled with water to the top, though it was surely hard to navigate through. Even if it did go for a short distance, it was as small as an air vent.

Eventually the cave sloped upwards as oxygen sprouted over the top. Gasping for breath, Brambleclaw crawled out of the water. Numerous fans giving off warm air dried him off as Brambleclaw crawled over to a stone door.

"Identification, please," a device inside the door said. Brambleclaw recited a very long code, thus the door opened. Inside was a large room with many cool-looking gadgets. In the middle of the room stood a young tabby she-cat. "Nice of you to join us, Agent 42."

Disclaimer: I do not own Warriors by Erin Hunter or any of its characters, books, etc. If I did, expect Brambleclaw to be a permanent ruler of the world. Yeah, the chapter was short, sorry! More to come soon! Please R & R!
