Chapter One: Vernon Dursley and Luna Lovegood.
"Luna, my dear" Vernon said as he stepped onto the sun soaked balcony "breakfast has arrived"
"Oh good" Luna smiled at Vernon as he gave her a tender kiss on the forehead "I do love raddish pancakes...hopefully the snarling grandle knarl hasn't laid any eggs on them."
Vernon and Luna ate their first breakfast as a married couple together out on the balcony they listened to the jumbled voices of the local riffraff below and smelt a subtle scent of flowers, carried by a gentle breeze, wafted up to them from the pergola. They looked at the beautiful crystal waters of the little Mediterranean bay they had chosen for their honeymoon and sighed with happiness.
Vernon eventually broke the silence "what should we do today? We could go for a swim?"
"No, no, that's not a good idea. I fear the water is full of twinkle-tooth buzzwards"
"Oh" Vernon didn't know what to say to that
Seeing his disappointment, Luna added "but a walk along the beach would be nice"
Luna and Vernon took their time getting dressed and didn't leave the hotel they were staying in till almost 10:30, but it didn't matter. They were too busy with each other to worry about silly things like the time. Soon they were down on the warm sandy beach amongst other holiday makers. Luna lost a sandal in the soft sand but didn't really care; Vernon just chuckled at his new wife's habit of losing things and promised to buy her a new pair of sandals on their way back to the hotel. Everthing seemed so good in the little bay and nothing but each other mattered. Eventually Vernon and Luna reached the rocky end of the bay, it was hidden from the main beach but was just as sunny and warm.
"Should we go back for lunch" Vernon asked as Luna began to scramble over the large boulders that were beginning to become more frequent.
"Nah, I'm not really hungry yet" Luna replied "but if you are..."
"No, I'm not" Vernon interrupted and climbed on top of the large flat rock that Luna had settled on, he took off his shirt and arranged it as a sort of pillow. Luna admired the diamond hard abs that Vernon had developed since his divorce, the sweat on his smooth skin sparkled in the sun as he lay next to Luna. They smiled at each other as the sun warmed them and deepened there tans, a crab scuttled across the sand below the rock and a seagull plunged into the surf before coming back up with a wriggling grey fish. Vernon forgot about his messy divorce and Luna ignored the pain of losing her friends in the battle with Voldemort. They were so happy together that nothing in the world could shatter the moment, well, that's what they thought.
After about half an hour Vernon had a strange feeling that someone was watching them, he propped himself up on his elbow and looked around but could not see the other beach goers around the corner in the sandy bay. "Luna dear, do you feel like someone's watching us?" he eventually asked
Unconcerned, Luna replied "hmmm, it's probably just a red-tincher orbit or something, there harmless, but like watching people"
"Yeah..." he mumbled while frowning at the horizon before lying back down beside Luna. Vernon had just gotten comfortable when he felt a mosquito bite his neck, he tried to swat it away but suddenly felt weak...and heavy...drowsy......sleepy........... .
