Hey, I got this idea and thought, what the hey, Erica needs some angst. I don't mean to bash Rory, but yeah…
Sarah's POV
"Um, Benny? What are doing?" I said, flipping through Dusk for the five hundredth time. When he only continued muttering, I turned to Ethan.
"He's just practicing random spells." I nodded. Benny had his spell book open in front of him on the table and had one finger pointed at the wall, shooting what I assumed were various incantations at it.
"Ok, guys, I have a new plan to get Erica to believe I'm her soul mate!" Rory exclaimed, running in. I rolled my eyes.
"I say you don't even try."
"Aww… I thought it would be a pretty good idea," He said, walking into Ethan's kitchen at the same time Erica walked in.
"Hey, Sarah! … Dorks. Hey, What's dork number two doing?" I rolled my eyes.
"Hey, Erica. He's practicing spells or something."
"Ooookay." She shrugged.
"Oooohhh, Erica!" Rory walked in with a plate of apples. "They're red delicious, just like y- WOAH!" He said, tripping on the carpet. The apples went flying, and one knocked Benny on the head.
"Mindir- OW!" Benny said, cutting the incanttation short. A red light shot out of his hand, bouncing around the room and smashing stuff.
"WHY MY HOUSE?" Ethan yelled over the noise.
"This doesn't look good!" I said, trying to grab Erica and pull her out of the way, but the light slamed into her chest knocking her backwards.
Ethan's POV
Erica fell backwards onto the floor behind the couch, out of Benny, Rory, and I's view, but Sarah saw her and gasped.
"Erica..." She said, grabbing her hand and helping her up. We all gasped. Erica looked exactly like she did before she was turned into a vampire! Benny's spell had turned her back into a mortal. She had on a plain grey sweatshirt and jeans with white sneakers. She was wearing glasses. Her hair was up in a messy ponytail and there were no traces of any makeup on her face. Rory took a few steps away, having tried to walk forward and help her up.
"Oh... Well I'm outta here..." Rory said, looking away from Erica. I just gaped as he sped away with his vampire abilities.
"Wha... You idiot! You turned me into a mortal!" She screamed, tears streaming down her face. Benny's face flashed with surprise, wonder, concern, and fear.
"I-I didn't know it was possible... I'll only last for an hour!" He said, dropping his spellbook on the table. Erica ran out angrily, Benny hot on her heels.
"That d-didn't end w-well at all," I stuttered in shock, Sarah nodding.
Benny's POV
I ran after Erica, following her all the way to the park and into a secluded grove of trees.
"Erica! You know it was an accident! An apple hit my head," I said, a pleading tone evident in my voice. She stopped suddenly, making me slam into her and fall hard onto my back. She stumbled forward, turning around. Her eyes were red and her lips were open in silent sobs. "It's only temorary," I said softly, standing up and pulling me into a hug.
"A-aren't you going to leave l-like Rory," She sniffed, resting her head under mine. She put more hate into his name than I thought would be possible. I rubbed her back soothingly.
"Hey, it's ok. It's his fault he's being so shallow." She smiled up at me, a genuine smile, not a smirk.
"So... You-"
"Yeah." My face burned with a blush. "Ethan and Rory thought I was an idiot when you were human. Blabbering about you being my future wife." She she reached up run her hand through my hair, laughing.
"Thank you. So much. I know where my trust lies. It's just... I'm the same person. The only thing that changed with my looks is my confidence. I mean, guys never used to look at me. I'm so glad you're such a doofus. Are you going to say it?" I squeezed her tightly.
"I love you. Just the way you are."
