Prologue
A young boy, around the age of fourteen, soon found himself awake in a forest. The first thought that crossed the boy's mind was that the forest he was in was too bright, as sunbeams shined brightly on his eyelids. Because of the glaring sunlight, he temporarily lost his vision for a brief few seconds, before shielding his eyes with his forearms and turning the opposite direction from the intense sunbeams. Once his eyes had adjusted to the harsh light, he reopened them and for the first time since awaking took in his surroundings.
"Okay, either this is a very realistic dream or I'm somehow stranded in the middle of a forest with no idea on where I am." The boy said to himself, which was a habit of his for keeping his head clear. He looked down at himself, noticing he was wearing a different set of clothes than what he usually wears; specifically a red parka over grey shirt, black pants that went up to his ankles, with matching gloves, and a pair of white sneakers with orange stripes on the side. Hanging around his neck were a pair of blue rimmed goggles, which oddly enough were the only accessory that was part of his original clothing.
"I don't know why, but I'm guessing whoever dressed me has a different sense of fashion than I do, not that I'm really complaining." He admitted, looking himself over. It was then that he took notice of the goggles around his neck. The boy smiled as he brought them up to his face. "Well, at least they think the goggles looked cool enough for me to keep. Now if only I could figure out just where on earth am I-"
The loud roar of a beast and the high pitched scream of a young girl shattered his thought process. With little to no hesitation, the boy jumped up tho his feet, pulled the goggles over his brown, star-fish shaped hair and took off to where the screams originated from, his blue eyes displaying his determination.
The boy had no idea where he was, how he got here, or even what the first screamed sounded like, which he thought was no animal he knew of. But all that mattered to him was that someone was in trouble, and if he had the power to do so, he would help that person in need no matter what was going on with him. When he starts something, he sticks with it til the very end, no matter what it was. That persistence was what made Takeo Sorata who he was. With one strong leg in front of the other, he raced through the forest towards a defenseless girl and her assailant.
So here's the first chapter in a Digimon fic I had planned on doing, although don't expect a quick update for the next one. It could be days, weeks, months, or even years before I get the motivation to update again, but if and when I do, you can expect it to be worth the wait. The only thing I'm not sure of is whether the partner Digimon should follow a certain theme, such as each Digimon being from one of the eight families, like Dragons Roar, Virus Busters, etc, or if I should just pick any Digimon I think looks cool and include them in the fic. I'm sure I'll figure it out...eventually.
