The first oneshot here is about when Kevin Michelson from my Crossed Paths Universe had narrowly escaped the exploding planet or Cortera. This explains exactly how he was able to survive after being injured in the fight against Prometheus and return home safely.

How did he escape? Here is the answer…

My Escape

"I felt the pain he had within him- every ounce of it. I had the same emotion as him, fear. We faced each other before and I had lost, now we were once again and I was the one on top. I knew he was thinking that he was about to die, though he kept his fight up and his strength above all. It was astounding to see someone as desperate as Prometheus use every ounce of what he had left in him to even try to come out on top." I said as I sat in the living room of the estate, the others watching me and listening closely. I was rather impressed by the reactions of the team when they learned of my well being, they were only happy and had no negative thoughts of where I had been for the past year after the war. It was something to finally be back on my second home, but I owed everyone an explanation.

"After he got the edge on me, he tore apart the armor I had on my body and sliced at it rather quickly. I still have the scar and it will a reminder to me of that crazy bastard. Anyway, I had thought that right then and there he would have killed me- but I was wrong. I stepped back and felt the glass from the casing on the floor. Before Prometheus was able to get me, I grabbed a piece and jumped into the air, bringing the sharp piece down and tearing his own armor up. This time, though, I ripped apart both his chest and back plate." I said as my head was lowered, "It was astonishing to see how easy it was to do it, and at the same how easy it was to expose such a fatal weak point."

Fox leaned in towards me, "How did you end up getting him?"

I looked back up at everyone and smiled, "He lunged at me with fatigue taking his body and opened up for my chance. I sidestepped, grabbed him, and threw him over on top of the sharp shards of glass covering the floor. Of course, he stayed down this time around. I wouldn't try to get up either, to be honest. Having hundreds of shards piercing your back would only make things worse if you got up." I said in detail, "He stayed down and I grabbed the weapon he had used to attempt to kill me. But as I did, he thought that he could bribe me with my own life by risking his own. He told me that I could escape and that all I needed to do was let him live. He gave me a code for the main systems computer inside the chamber and told me that the Yuthans would only continue to fight. He gave me a difficult choice, save myself and fight, or kill myself and the Yuthans." I said as I felt a tear come to my eye. The memory of the thought tearing through my heart and mind was a lot to handle. It was frightening to think of the time you had a choice of living or dieing, but for me it was obvious. "I looked back at the Yuthan and smiled softly, thanking him for the code to end the suffering put in place by the Yuthans. I raised the weapon and killed him on sight with no more words spoken from him." I sighed shakingly, "I really thought I was going to die right then and there. I thought that I was going to really kill myself, but for a good cause." The tear in my eye finally feel down my face. I wiped it off and continued my story, "I entered the code and braced myself. I didn't know if it was going to be fast or slow, death was coming either way."

Krystal spoke up, "But how did you possibly escape?"

I nodded slowly, "Prometheus must have been beyond scared, because he forgot about the emergency exit cleverly hidden in the chamber. After the sequence started a bright white light emitted from the left side of my peripheral vision. I was praising the God I believed in for giving me the strength to notice it. I looked over and it was a swirling vortex that quickly turned into what looked like a hallway. The entire room was shaking violently, so I ran for it and prayed that I could make it in time." I stopped and slightly chuckled, "I have Slippy to thank once again for this. I was happy to notice that I still had the Wave attached to my belt. I activated it, ran through this portal, down the halls of the palace, outside, and hijacked what looked to be like a cargo ship. I tell ya, my heart never beat so fast before in my life. I was actually given a second chance; the one that I had dreamed off."

"What about your injuries?" Michael said as he pointed to my left arm and left eye.

I nodded once more, "I didn't have that much time, you know? I was barely out of the blast radius by the time I left the planet. It hit my ship so hard that I was knocked unconscious. Both my eye and arm injury came from the fight, but the way they look now? Well, the ship turned out to be a medical ship. In it was an android similar to MAM, and he went to work on me and piloted the ship in a random direction. He said I was out for about a few months and that my injuries should be completely healed, all except for my eye." I said as I pointed to it. I felt it and saw that it was now a closed piece of flesh with a scar over it. I always feared of losing vision, but when it finally happened to one eye, I wasn't entirely scared. I adapted to it quickly.

"I didn't think we could reach Lylat and instead piloted in a random direction, hoping to find some form of life. Believe me if you want, but I actually found something. It took us about 3 days of flying, but we ran into a small star system. One of the planets, a green and blue one, looked to be the only life sustaining planet within the system." I stopped once more and began to laugh. The thought of the amount of sheer luck I had with this encounter was beyond anything I had imagined and sounded rather silly, insane even. "We got close to the planet, and it turned out to be apart of a small system they called Solar. I said you could believe me if you wanted to, but I ran right into Earth…"

"That's… what?" Slippy said in disbelief as he looked at me with awe.

I chuckled even more, "I know… I was on the verge of crying because of this shit I went through. I nearly killed myself, saved by an android, and ran into my home planet without knowing it." I started to cry tears of joy right there. My voice started to shake and my heart sank from all of it being taken in, "I mean… who's to say something out there isn't… looking after me?" I wiped my face, "I just… I just… have no words to say on this. I just couldn't believe it."

Krystal walked over and sat by my side. She then grabbed hold of me and hugged me tightly.

"I can feel what you were going through- the emotions you felt at this time." She said, "This war really did a toll on you emotionally."

Fox sat by my side and hugged me as well, "Hey man, i'm just glad that you turned out to be alive. I can't believe any of it myself, and I thank whatever it was that saved you."

Falco smiled, "That's one hell of a story Kev."

I smiled through my tears of joy and chuckled, "One hell of a story indeed." I wiped the tears from my face and smiled once more, "I heard you guys talking about doing something soon, mind if I join in with you all?" My voice was shallow and shaky as can be. The emotions really had taken over my senses and I could hardly hold myself together.

Jack smiled and crossed his arms, giving me a questioning look, "You're still a member of Star Fox, aren't ya?"

Fox then smiled and looked at me with his arm still around my shoulder, "Welcome home"

The True End…

There you have it my readers, the true ending to the Crossed Paths Universe.

Right now, I am working on an original story, but that won't be finished until, I predict, 2017. Until then, I will be focused on Star Fox fanfiction. I have two more books in the making. In case you haven't been following they are: Fall of the Jedi and Gladiator. The first is a Star Wars themed, and the second is hidden until you read it ;).

You all stood with me until now, you have no idea how much this means to me….

thank you
