AN: Aiiight, first fanfic ya dig, so drop a review if you feel so inclined. Kinda but not really inspired by the song Rainstorm Blues by Flying Saucer Attack; you can listen to that if you wanna while you read (it's on youtube) but beware, it's kinda noisey and not really pleasant for those who are unfamiliar with that kinda sound. Anyways, I just felt like writing something and this was the result, so enjoy.

Fat gray raindrops splatter across the window at a rapid staccato as lightning flashes in the distance, lighting up the orchestra. Thunder lazily follows in a satisfying bass.

If only there were a melody to tonight's most spectacular percussion performance.

Thoughts meander through Elsa's brain much like uninspired patrons at an art museum.

Unfortunately this impressive display has taken the voices from nature's usual nighttime chorus. The owls stay silent in their nests, the crickets remain dumb in wherever they find refuge from this deluge, but the frogs seem to be undaunted by the flood. Perhaps they merely see the splashing rain as a challenge, and seek to drown it out as much as it seems to seek to drown out nearly everything else.

A stirring next to Elsa wakes her from her night time reverie. A voice arises from the stirring figure, still groggy from an interrupted dream.

"How do you manage to act so calm while an army of raindrops assaults the window like three feet from your face?"

Elsa turns to face her lover and smiles, granted it probably doesn't accomplish much given the lack of light in the room. Perhaps she was banking on a flash of lightning to fill the room with sudden radiance. She would get no such luck as she faces the other half of complete darkness that comprises her world.

"Oh Anna, there's nothing to fear in the drenched world beyond that window. The rain and thunder are simply showing us their latest work of free improvisation while the lightning provides electric visual effects."

Elsa replies ecstatically.

"And do you know what the best part is?"

"What"

Groans a sleepy Anna, already lamenting her sudden withdrawal from the land of dreams.

Elsa replies

"It's all completely free of charge. Well except for the lightning I suppose."

Anna moans unintelligibly in response to her lover's pun.

"Whatever, as long as you don't start recording it again."

Elsa giggles, briefly turning to glance at her phone on the windowsill, brief red blinks betraying what Anna feared most.

As Anna slowly drifts back to sleep, her mind returns to the subject of her queer lover. She knew of no one else who listened to the noise made by thunderstorms so attentively. Yeah sure, a lot of people liked rain and thought it was calming and stuff, but no one thought it was really music. None other than her Elsa. A smile graces her lips as she returns to her subconscious.
