I had been in the mood to do just a regular Little Mermaid fic that isn't part of a crossover. Its might be part of a bigger idea may do with about a Disney high school or Disney University au later on down the road.

Disclaimer: Don't own the Little Mermaid or its characters. Author just owns the plot only. There is no money made off this work.

A Girl?!

Summary: Seeing a messy red hair kid with blue eyes talking with the teacher, Eric decides to make friends with the new boy. Only he didn't realize the new kid is in fact a girl which been the same mistake that the other boys in the class make as well while the new girl and the others watch in amusement.

Twirling a pencil in his hand waiting for class to begin, Eric blinks a few times rather bored while nodding to some of his friends that walk by his desk. In the back of him he can hear Philp and Kit chatting away to pass the time. His blue eyes gaze to the teacher's desk where the sight of a scrawny, messy red hair boy with bright aqua blue eyes nods and talks in response.

'So a new boy for the class than,' Eric muse thoughtfully as his ten year old mind whirls with possibilities of a new friend. A huge smile graces his face and slips out of his seat figuring to introduce himself.

"Hello Mrs. Walters," Eric greets his teacher before looking at the new boy. "Are you new here?"

"Yeah my family and me recently move last week into town," a soft voice almost musical quality to it answers.

'Weird voice for a boy….eh it must be just him.' Eric assumes still smiling friendly.

"Well welcome to town! My name is Eric Connor! What's your name?" Eric asks feeling rather excited.

For a strange reason the new kid raise his brow as a look of confusion than understand appears follow by a cheeky grin.

"Ariel Benson," The red head kid answers.

"That's a weird name for a girl," Eric comments catching the attention of the class.

"Yeah," the other boys remarks while the girls give them looks wondering if all boys are dumb.

"Well I am a girl," Ariel grins as Eric blanches unable to control his voice coming out high pitch.

"A GIRL?!"

"Yeah I'm not like my other sisters that are more girly than me. I more a tomboy that loves to play sports. So is there a place I can sign up for some?" Ariel asks sweetly as the boys groan and moan while the girls howl laughing finding this moment unforgettable.

Unknown to Eric, it happen to be the same day he fallen for the red head tomboy girl who he assume was a boy on first sight. It is a story to tell any kids he'll have in the future.
