Weiss looked at the Valentine, it wasn't bad but still not perfect. She'd been working on the three dimensional heart for several hours and had to redo it twice already since she feared it wasn't good enough. The person receiving the card was by no means a perfectionist and even if it looked horrible would've thanked her for it anyway since they were so nice, one of many reasons why Weiss liked them. Even though they hadn't gotten off to a very good start and she was cold to them after they still stuck around and not because they had to. It made Weiss feel wanted for the first time in a while and once Weiss let them in, she certainly didn't regret it. The person had become her best (and was also one of her only) friend and she hoped to take the relationship to the next level.

Weiss examined the heart looking for any errors, thankfully there were none since Weiss wouldn't have time to start over with Valentines day being tomorrow. The heart was made from glass (alright so she might not have done the whole thing herself) and was a little bigger than the size of her head. It was panted with a base coating of red and all over it had swirls of orange, pink, and purple-all of this done with a small paintbrush and took her several days to do. And in the center, written in white was "Happy Valentines Day" cheesy but Weiss wasn't really the romantic type and didn't want to embarrass herself with horrible poetry written last minute. Now all Weiss needed to do was put some red glitter (her crush liked red and shiny things) on the white writing and it'd be done. Too bad Ruby was a klutz.

"Wow Weiss that looks REALLY cool! How long did it take you to do this?" Ruby said as she looked at the heart. "Man you must really like this guy, who is it?" Yang asked. "Not telling." Weiss said as she pulled out the glitter. "Well I'm sure they'll love it." Ruby said as she leaned forward to get a better look, but she leaned in a little to close and lost her balance. "WAHH!" Ruby yelled in surprise as she grabbed onto the table to try and stop herself but the table (being the cheap thing it was) simply fell over with her and with Weiss' project still on it. "NO!" Weiss cried but it was too late. The heart that she'd spent hours on was shattered. Ruby groaned and sat up but froze when she saw the broken Valentine. "Weiss I-" Ruby began but Weiss simply walked away, no yelling or anything. She just simply walked away. "Oh no." Ruby said as she stared down at the remains of the valentine.

Weiss didn't return for the rest of the day and Ruby was extremely worried, it was getting late but Weiss had yet to return. "Don't worry Ruby, she's just cooling off. When she comes back tomorrow, things will be all better!" Yang said, trying to cheer her up. Ruby didn't say anything and her sister went off to bed.

Ruby wasn't even aware she'd fallen asleep until she felt herself being poked (and not too gently). "C'mon already, wake up!" A not so happy voice said. Ruby woke immediately, it was Weiss. "Weiss! Oh I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to! I-" ruby was cut off when a card was shoved into her arms. It was read with a white heart that the words "Happy Valentines day" on the cover. Ruby, blinked, "Weiss...?" "I know its not all that great, but it would've been better if you hadn't smashed the other one I was going to give you. So happy Valentines Day." Weiss said as she turned away from Ruby, trying to hide her embarrassment. "Happy Valentines Day to you too."

Well that was short and sweet! (Hopefully) I hope you enjoyed the story even though its not Valentines day.
