Platonic Ironic:

A Sunset and His Legacy

Enjoy

It was Ironic,

Platonic Ironic.

They compared him to the rising dun, to the fire of the country that he protected. The will that beat in his blood was so strong, the embers that burned in his heart so vital.

They were his people, the populace that he protected.

They heard his stories and they rejoice in his victories.

They were unable to comprehend that he was different.

They claimed his eyes held the kindness unlike that seen in centuries long past. They didn't realize that in his cerulean depths he felt nothing but disdain for himself and for the country that he protected, the fallen country vastly unlike its original prestige.

They said his hair glowed as much as his personality, as much as his smile. They said he orbited brighter than the moon and further than the sun.

He found it Ironic,

Platonic ironic.

If they knew how he felt inside, how dark he really was, if they knew the things that even Sandaime did not.

He wasn't evil, truly far from that.

But he was not the sunshine daisies they tried to paint, the selfless hero with the village as his cause.

He scorned many, saw their actions has haughty, glanced at them with only contempt.

It was Ironic,

Platonic Ironic.

Because his legacy was, his legacy was everything they said he was. He was the fourth in a line of false gods, bright deities.

He was the sunset to his legacy's bright rays.

The foolish, fickle people of Konoha were uncomprehending of that.

For all the sentiments they sought to barter to him they robbed from his legacy.

His legacy moved through the village and loved, he sought out the people who abused him and he cherished them.

His personality matched the rising sun and his cerulean eyes shown bright with pride. But they did not praise the legacy, they always praised the father, they abandoned the son.

It was Ironic,

Platonic Ironic.

The setting sun was treasured above all else yet the rising sun was forever forsaken.
