NOTE: I recommend reading this while listening to the classical song by Paul Collier : Choose Love – It's Your World. Youtube it. This one-shot was inspired by it.

It's the kind of thing that goes down in history, made into great legends.

Oh, sure. The whole "Savior of Olympus" and "Official Architect of the Gods" made it them a little more memorable. But really, that's not what they'll be famous for, thousands of years from now. Someday, they will be the next Romeo and Juliet, and unlikely couple, drawn together by nothing but fate and a raw passion for life and goodness.

Seeing them grow up… Well, it was obvious to everyone but them. Aphrodite has never had so much fun in her immortal life. His blatant protection of her… And she put it off as good character! Ah… It makes me chuckle to this day of how she will never really understand how deeply he wants to protect her.

Of course, there are parts of her he will never understand, either. I mean, how could he not get confused sometimes? He is – how does she put it? – a bit of a Seaweed Brain.

He will never understand how she fell so madly in love with him. How a girl as smart as her could choose someone like him. (I'm a little lost here, too, though, to be fair.) There were several other, perhaps more suitable options, but she took a risk, and that is what makes their love story a great one.

And now, as I pass on, I realize that perhaps my true calling was not to train Hercules or Achilles or Jason but to ensure that two hearts became one, and set perhaps the most epic example of how to love with all your heart.

With her safely aboard the ship that will take her to him, to be reunited with him once again, I may now leave this world for the next, now that my work is finished, my destiny complete.

I wish them the best.
